Editing Weekends

The first editing weekend was titled Music Albums. This topic accumulated ten created articles, one improved article and three created templates, written by seven users. Next weekend was Atolls and that 8th to 9th October, attracted two men who contributed with six new articles. Themed on a wide subject, we had the Spain EW on 15th-16th. This topic attracted three users that created 11 articles. Setting our eyes on culture, we had Jewish Culture as a title. That weekend had presence of three people and they achieved 16 newly established pages. Something of a 'fresh' topic was Heraldry. Those two days (29 and 30) were attended by three people who created eleven articles.

The outcome in October was 54 new articles, one improved articles and three created templates.

Editing Days

Returning to the music theme, we opened this month with Works by Johann Straus II which two people joined and created five articles. Continuing the historical/geographical thematic, Trade Routes was held on the sixth day of the month. That day two people participated and they created five articles. Later, on 11th, there was Yugoslav Partisans Military Units comprised of two participants and with results of four new articles. Two days later, three men participated, this time on the Paintings by Claude Monet ED, with a score of nine creations. On October 18, Roman Themes was arranged and was joined by two users who created three articles. Again with a literature editing day, we had Works by Voltaire which was participated by one man and he covered one new article. Selecting again an geography topic, we had Cantons of Switzerland ED on 25th. That time, two new articles were covered by two participants. The last editing day was again dedicated to sports, this time about EHF Women's Teams. So, on October 27, two articles have been created about national teams of Europe.

The outcome in October was 31 new articles.

WikiLectures

On 6th, the new project WikiLectures was launched, which consists of recording the solving equations that would be inserted into Wikipedia articles for better illustration and better studying. The recording was about solving demographic equations, taught by Professor Marija Ljakoska, at the Institute of Geography, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. Five videos were recorded.

WikiTours

On October 7, in the seat of the Sveti Nikole Municipality, we held the second WikiTour Sveti Nikole. That workshop involved writing articles generally related to the town of Sveti Nikole. Along with the writing, encyclopedic photographs were also taken by the activists of SK. Eight articles were created and two were improved (one of the two improved ones was already being improved in April during WikiStands project, so in statistical point of view the article is counted in WikiStands). Five images of encyclopedic use were uploaded on Commons. In addition, with correlation to the images for encyclopedic use, two articles were created and one was improved on October 13 and 14.

The end results are ten created articles and two improved ones.

Photohunts

On October 8, the two participants of the this year's Resen Photohunt, made a comeback and held another engagement. This time, it was in the neighbouring Ohrid Municipality and the villages of Orman, Dolno Lakočerej, Gorno Lakočerej and Podmolje got visited and photographed. Additionally, 1 article was created and 15 more were improved.

Editing Competitions

From September 9 to October 8, we held the Antarctica editing competition. Eight people were part of the edition. 302 article were created and two articles got improved.

WikiStands

On 10th, the second edition of Wikistands was held, this time on a new location - East Gate Mall. The editing stand lasted from 10 AM to 2 PM. Out of the total six people, four new people were part of it and created six articles from various topics.

Theater Actors From Macedonia

This project was revived on October 10 when 8 images out of seven people were uploaded on Commons. The images portrayed images of theater actors from the Macedonian National Theater. Two people were part of the engagement.

Wikiexperiments

On 13th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Sara Cvetanoska and Angela Ivanova, who are employed at the Institute of Biology of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, we recorded 21 videos of experiments related to the field of botany. The same day, one article was created and seven articles got improved.

Edit-a-thons

On 15th, we had the Slovenia Edit-a-thon on the topic of the country of Slovenia with a goal to create articles that are related to Slovenia. The event was in cooperation with Slovenian Center - Skopje and was held in the premises of MladiHub youth organization. 22 people participated and 57 articles were created on Macedonian-language Wikipedia.

WikiTranslate

On October 27, we had an editorial workshop that was held at the International Slavic University Gavrilo Romanovich Derzhavin in Sveti Nikole, in cooperation with coordinators and students from the already mentioned university. At the workshop there were a total of 6 people who wrote articles on the English Wikipedia (6 new and 1 improved) and the Macedonian Wikipedia (1 new article). The articles were related to ISU. In addition, six images of encyclopedic use were uploaded.

Skopje Zoo WikiProject

On October 28, the finalization of the 2021's activity i.e. installation of the QR-coded plates in the Skopje Zoo was done. The engagement consisted of replacing the old plates already placed by us in 2015, but also placing plates of new animals in the zoo. Each plate is placed in front of the animal's residence, and contains the names of the animal in Macedonian, Albanian, English and Latin (scientific name). In addition, there are three QR codes on the plate which, by scanning them, leads to the animal's respective article on Macedonian, Albanian and English Wikipedia.
