Wiki Sketches
At this quick and easy mentoring subprogram, we managed to reach to ten people. The lessons held in our office started in June and all the way to September. The titles of the covered articles were mostly related about communication, geography, history, NBA players, biology, video games, grammar, poetry.
WikiTranslate
A subprogram very close to Wikisketch lessons. This was a completely new project started for the very first time which aims to organize events with people with good knowledge and skills of other languages, professors, students etc., in order to create articles through translations. With the collaboration with the private foreign language school "Angel Ves" which they provided us with some space and volunteers, we managed to have translated and created articles from the English, French, Italian, Portugese, Spanish, and Russian Wikipedia in the period of April-July and October.
WikiScout
WikiScout is a project on Wikipedia in Macedonian in cooperation with the Scout Squadron (IPO) "Galeb", which aims to help and improve existing and create new articles about scouting, in Macedonian language edited by scouts and active users and editors involved in the project. At the same time, the project's goal is to introduce the scouts into the use and editing of Wikipedia and its accompanying projects such as the Wikimedia Commons for uploading and attaching images and videos and Wikidata, which, in addition to creating articles and scout-related content, the use of Wikipedia by editing content, adding pictures would help them and would continue to be used in their regular scouting activities and duties. On May 16, the project has started with the first training workshop at the Scout's Union of Macedonia where around 15 scouts have been introduced to the basics of Wikipedia through a presentation and then they have proceed to creating several articles through the translation tool and visual and coded editor as well as they have uploaded several images. The second part of the project has continued in mid-June where the participants will attend two-day camp with tents on an open air in Macedonia where they will gather information, pictures which were added as content on Wikipedia.
Wikiexpeditions
All four planned expeditions got realized. Those were: Region of Slavište (Northeast Republic of Macedonia) in late April, Municipality of Mogila in early June, Ohrid Region in August, and Municipality of Dolneni in October. The group of four men managed to upload 1,602 images, and to create 185 and improve 121 articles, significantly enriching the Macedonian Wikipedia. A total of 110 villages got covered by our crew and these rural settlement got images for the first time on Wikipedia.
Geoexpeditions
On March 31, the first geoexpedition of 2019 started, aimed to discover, visit, photograph and research of the geography and specific geographical features of Macedonia in its entire territory, for the fourth consecutive year of the Geoexpedition project of Macedonian Wikipedia. The team consisted of two men, one of them being a teacher in geography. That time, they have visited two very rare natural lakes of volcanic origin in the regions of Probištip and Kumanovo in the northeastern part of Macedonia. Besides taking photographs of the two lakes the group have gathered and measured information of the lakes and the villages in the surrounding in conversation with local inhabitants as well as visited the medieval Karpino monastery. The second was in the summer i.e. June. In that occasion, Baba Mountain (National Park Pelister) was visited and covered. Later in July was organized the third geo, this one in the mostwest of the country. That time, the popular Korab Mountain was visited. The fourth time in October, Kožuf Mountain got visited. This mountain is at the border shared with Greece. In November, numerous caves in the Region of Poreče (Municipality of Makedonski Brod).
Veloexpeditions
This 2019, our two men visited the northern Skopje region by bike. This location was chosen due to fairly near distance from the capital of Skopje and the easy road access. During this engagement they visited eleven villages in the Municipality of Čučer Sandevo and alongside many churches, and other landmarks.
Archaeoexpeditions
A successful three expeditions of this type were done. To be noted on the two archaeoexpeditions were organized with companionship of a university professor in archaeology and two of his students. Next location within the first archaeo was the ruins of the Medieval town of Devol, located in the Municipality of Kavadarci. In May 31, our communitu coordinator visited the site called Davina Kula located in the western slopes of the Skopska Crna Gora.
