Description

[edit]

Wikimedia UK is organising the second London Wikidata meetup on May 2, this time downstairs at Newspeak House in East London, from 7-10 PM. If you're working on Wikidata projects, or interested in Wikidata and want to find out how to get involved, come along and talk to us about it.

As this will take place in the downstairs part of Newspeak, there will be an opportunity for brief presentations. If you have a Wikidata project you're working on and would like to do a 5–10 minute presentation on, please contact me about it – john.lubbock@wikimedia.org.uk

This event will not be catered, but you are welcome to bring your own food or drink into the venue.

Wikidata Dictionaries and their use

[edit]

I have volunteered a short presentation on the value of Wikidata for annotating scientific papers. In February I helped run a TIGR2ESS workshop on Food Security in New Delhi [1]. The delegates created Wikidata dictionaries for major crops and also disease, places, etc. I can show how Wikidata can change the way we think about scientific knowledge. ScienceSource

[edit]

The ScienceSource project has a suite of pages at d:Wikidata:ScienceSource project. I'll also be able to talk about the latest from its wiki at http://sciencesource.wmflabs.org, where there now a review tool in the sidebar. Charles Matthews (talk) 07:43, 2 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
