[edit]The meetup will be an informal gathering with no formal agenda, but please feel free to add any topics that you'd like to raise for discussion, e.g.:
- Reaching out to other GLAMs in Scotland, especially outwith the Central Belt
- GLAM-Wiki or other Wiki events that you'd like to take part in
About the meetup
[edit]This is intended to include any interested Wikimedians who find themselves in Edinburgh or can make their way to Edinburgh on the day. Anyone who has attended previous meetups in Glasgow or Edinburgh encouraged to return to meet new faces! It will be a social gathering for Wikimedia enthusiasts, where we...
- Have a bite to eat and a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic!).
- Chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy!
This is mainly a casual social event. You can expect to meet some very keen Wikipedians, however this is also an open invitation to anyone interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, projects re-using Wikipedia, and other collaborative wiki projects. Feel free to come along and raise these discussions!
Location
[edit]Platform 5 on Haymarket is a newly-opened spacious pub located immediately across from Haymarket Station in Edinburgh's west end. Extremely accessible via train for those travelling from outside the city, and via bus for Edinburgh residents, Platform 5 offers food, drinks, and WiFi over two levels, and should give us plenty of room to meet and have a chat after work!
Spotting us
[edit]We will most likely be buried in laptops, tablets, smartphones, and any other portable internet-accessible devices there might be. We will also have a ScotWiki tabletop banner so we should be pretty noticeable!
- UPDATE! We're in the private dining area, aka "The Waiting Room" at the back of the pub. The wee banner is outside and I've hung up a Wikipedia bag at the door...***
