Agenda
[edit]- 5.15pm to 6pm - (Optional) Visit the Plague exhibition at the National Library of Scotland.
- 6pm to 8pm - Wiki meetup in the National Library of Scotland Visitor Centre cafe.
The meetup will be an informal gathering with no formal agenda, but please feel free to add any topics that you'd like to raise for discussion.
About the meetup
[edit]This is intended to include any interested Wikimedians who find themselves in Edinburgh or can make their way to Edinburgh on the day. Anyone who has attended previous meetups in Glasgow or Edinburgh encouraged to return to meet new faces! It will be a social gathering for Wikimedia enthusiasts, where we...
- (Optional) Visit an interesting exhibition which has been getting great reviews.
- Have a bite to eat and a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic!).
- Chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy!
- Explore how we can encourage others to engage with Wikipedia and arrangements for future Edinburgh Wiki meetups.
This is mainly a casual social event. You can expect to meet some very keen Wikipedians, however this is also an open invitation to anyone interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, projects re-using Wikipedia, and other collaborative wiki projects. Feel free to come along and raise these discussions!
Location
[edit]The National Library of Scotland is extremely accessible via train for those travelling from outside the city, and via bus for Edinburgh residents. Its visitor centre offers food, drinks, and WiFi and should give us plenty of room to meet and have a chat after work!

Spotting us / Arrangements for arrival
[edit]I'll wait at the reception area at 5.15-5.25pm to see if people want to join me walking round the Plague exhibition. Otherwise I'll setup a table in the cafe for 6pm which you're welcome to come join me then. I'll be carrying a Wikimedia bag and can leave some Wiki merchandise on the tabletop. Either that or I'll wear a panama hat so you can recognise me. Whatever works for people trying to find us.
