[edit]- @Oscar .: Have you notified the local communities about the upcoming campaign? —DerHexer (Talk) 21:18, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @DerHexer, our goal is to announce this in both village pumps and, at the very least, use the watch list notice for Spanish, but we haven’t done it yet. Let us know what kind of message you're envisioning, and we’ll work to make it happen, thanks Oscar_. (talk) 22:23, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Another question, @DerHexer. We are also planning to launch Wiki Loves Latinos 2025 in April. Would it make sense to combine both communications, or would it be better to handle them separately? Thank you. I apologize in advance, it's been a few years since I last used the banner. Oscar_. (talk) 17:51, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Oscar .: They are too much apart, I would go with two separate notifications. I think that a short message to both village pumps will be sufficient. And with the CentralNotice, a separate Watchlist-summary doesn't seem to be so much needed. But that's up to you. Please let me know when you have posted the messages for this campaign so that I can start with preparations of the banner campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 21:16, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Comment WMHU being signed an agreement with the WMF for this banner campaign. The campaign is between 1st February and 20th May, separated into four active periods. I am a CN admin, and I can handle and administrate the campaign myself as I did in the previous years. Samat (talk) 08:25, 2 February 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Structured with both national coordinators and an International Team, the campaign ensures comprehensive coverage. National coordinators, responsible for organizing Wiki Loves Folklore within their respective countries, play a vital role in fostering local participation. Simultaneously, the International Team steps in to organize the contest in countries lacking designated national coordinators, thereby addressing the representation gap within the Wikimedia ecosystem.

[edit]As requested in CentralNotice/Request/Wiki Loves Folklore 2025 -- Kaim Amin (talk) 10:26, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Kaim Amin Please note that last year, the Bengali Wikipedia community reached a consensus against displaying this Folklore banner on bnwiki.
- Kindly ensure that the banner is not shown on bnwiki unless there is a new community consensus explicitly supporting its display. খাত্তাব হাসান (talk) 17:19, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- @খাত্তাব হাসান, kindly explain to us why is "Folklore" banner not allowed to display on Bengali wikipedia projects?. WLF and FNF both projects were organised successfully by the Bengali community last year and even this year they are all set and ready. Tiven2240 (talk) 18:51, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Tiven2240 There is no problem with displaying the banner for the Feminism and Folklore 2025 article writing contest. However, there is currently no community consensus to show the WLFB contest banner (this specific banner). For further details on the reasoning behind this decision, please refer to the linked community discussion. খাত্তাব হাসান (talk) 19:42, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- @খাত্তাব হাসান WLFBD is a Wikimedia commons project related to photography. The users via this banner are landed on Wikimedia Commons and not Bangla Wikipedia. This Banner clearly mentions that it will run in Bangladesh and not only on Bangla Wikipedia. That means any user irrespective of any Wiki Language edition accessing Wiki projects in Bangladesh user can see this Banner and go to Commons to upload. I dont see this discussed in the link shared as consensus, If this was discussed please share extract. Tiven2240 (talk) 19:57, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Tiven2240 I’m really sorry for sharing the diff URL earlier. Here’s the archived URL: https://w.wiki/CuEL. খাত্তাব হাসান (talk) 20:30, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- Please note that this was last year's decision about the folklore commons photo contest banner organized by two banned wikimedians. There is no consensus to show the folklore commons photo contest banner on Bangla Wikipedia. (However, note also there is no restriction on organising and giving banner for feminism and folklore wikipedia article writing competition on Bangla wikipedia.) Nettime Sujata (talk) 16:58, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Tiven2240 It doesn't matter whether users via this banner are banned on Wikimedia Commons or not, the community consensus is not to show this banner on Bangla Wikipedia at all. Kindly set the banner accordingly. খাত্তাব হাসান (talk) 21:21, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- @খাত্তাব হাসান I don't know if you read my previous messages well. It clearly seems that there is a false claim in the name of community consensus here. There is no indication on the pages that the event WLFBD or FNFBD is banned on Bangla wiki. Both the events are running successfully and that gives us motivation to run the banner in Bangladesh region irrespective of any Wiki Project like commons/wiki/etc. My sincere request is to keep local disputes on local level. We are here for the successful implementation of the project and request your cooperation. Feel free to have a meeting with us by dropping an email at support
wikilovesfolklore.org. Admins at Central Notice to take final decision on this. Thank you for understanding. Tiven2240 (talk) 04:33, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Kaim Amin There is no community consensus to display this banner on bnwiki. I am just passing along this message. If you believe my claim is incorrect, feel free to verify by asking at bn:উইকিপিডিয়া:আলোচনাসভা (Village pump) or bn:উইকিপিডিয়া:প্রশাসকদের আলোচনাসভা (admin noticeboard).
- I kindly request the CentralNotice administrators to respect our local community consensus. খাত্তাব হাসান (talk) 10:43, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

Comment Since the clarification provided here regarding the discussion, @Kaim Amin:, should I activate the banner? Please check the banner and campaign details and confirm it. Thank you very much. Nokib Sarkar (talk) 17:24, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

Done. Best wishes for the organizing. Nokib Sarkar (talk) 17:55, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Nokib Sarkar I don’t see the point... how is this a "clarification" when the organizers are the same as last year and their ban has not been lifted? She merely pointed out that we have no issue with the original/main WLF banner, not this one. খাত্তাব হাসান (talk) 19:16, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

[edit]- @MdsShakil: Please note that according to the CentralNotice/Usage guidelines, all campaigns should be requested at least 14 days in advance. Some words on description and metrics would have been good, too. ;) Fortunately, it's a returning activity so that I created the campaign (as I said last year, we cannot clone campaigns because of technical limitations) and banner (preview). Please check everything, approve it and ping me so that I can enable the campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 13:39, 28 January 2025 (UTC)

- @Paula (WDU): Usually, campaigns longer than 2 weeks need community approval according to the new guidelines. However, as this is part of Wiki Loves Folklore which is an established community campaign, it's okay. ;) I have created the campaign and banner (preview). By doing this, I have also adjusted the WLF campaigns. Please check everything, approve it and ping me so that I can enable the campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 09:57, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- @DerHexer: thank you for the adjustments to the WLF campaign. I didn't notice that a banner was requested for each participating country. Everything is great, only Wikivoyage is missing in the projects campaign. I promise I'll read the new guidelines before asking for a new banner. As always, thanks for all your help. Best, Paula (WDU) (talk) 15:15, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Oops, I have added Wikivoyage and enabled the campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 16:06, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]- @Adoscam: Thank you for submitting your request. Before we can progress it, we need additional information because the request template was not completely filled.
- From looking at the landing, this doesn't look like a campaign for improving articles but for organizing events. Is that correct?
- You didn't mention the target language(s). French only?
- Country would be France only, not French nor French-language countries, right?
- The link to the banner is not very clear to me. Do you mean this banner code? It's made in Wiki code but we need it in HTML/CSS/JavaScript; however, I think that I am capable of converting it.
- Lastly, you are requesting a campaign of more than 14 days duration. Please note that according to the new CentralNotice guidelines these campaigns require community communication. Please link to a notification of the French community where you also link to this request.
- Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 19:03, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Adoscam: Small reminder of my questions. :) Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 12:55, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hello@DerHexer. My apologies for the delay in responding. I was less on site these few days.
- Yes it is not a campaign. But rather a call for participation before the campaign which starts in March 2025.
- Yes the language is mainly French. If we can add other languages to allow other communities of other language versions to see, that would be a good thing. It is up to *you to see what would be more effective.
- As for the countries it is France and all the others the French-speaking countries, since it is the French-speaking world that we are talking about.
- As for the banner yes you can help us in this direction to convert it.
- As for the number of days, we prefer 14 days to avoid banner fatigue
- If you have other questions, I remain available. Sincerely.
- Once again my apologies for the delay in responding.

- Hi.@DerHexer I hope you're well. After display of the banner and following feedback from the community, I come to you to request a change from the initial message on the banner to a new message which is here [En mars, participez aux activités du Mois de la contribution près de chez vous]
- Is something possible ?
- Kindly Regards Adoscam (talk) 15:44, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Adoscam: “Appel à participation - Mois de la contribution francophone
C'est le mois de la contribution !
WikiFranca vous invite à prendre part aux activités près de chez vous !”, that's the current text. Should it be entirely replaced? As of now, it has two parts: a big, bold one and a smaller one below. How should that one sentence be displayed? —DerHexer (Talk) 16:13, 1 February 2025 (UTC)- @DerHexer Hello
- After a new discussion with the organizing committee I reformulate my request like this. Replace all the old content with the following [En Mars, participez aux activités du Mois de la contribution près de chez vous] . En Mars (written in bold), Mois de la contribution (written in bold). the other part remains intact.Furthermore, we would like the content to be displayed in two partsː the first line [En Mars, participez aux activités du] and second line [Mois de la contribution francophone près de chez vous]. Kindly regards. Adoscam (talk) 12:44, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

[edit]- @Joris Darlington Quarshie:
- Do you want to request one campaign for all participating countries and another one for all remaining countries again? For the former, it seems that c:Commons:Wiki Loves Folklore 2025/Organize has the most up-to-date list. But what are your expectations? Will many more show up? It would make more sense to create the campaigns when it's more clear.
- Furthermore, do you plan separate campaigns again like the Bangladesh version last year? It would be helpful to have a list of such special campaigns in advance as well.
- Last year, we have kindly asked the organizers to motivate a volunteer to help out with setting up the campaign. Could you find a volunteer CentralNotice admin? Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 20:26, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @DerHexer,
- Please we require 3 type of banners;
- 1 for signed up countries.
- 1 for all countries but which are not part of signed up countries.
- 1 for anonymous users.
- The list of the organisers is not fully complete since we are still sign up stage. It's start as the list will be completed before 1st February 2025. These are the types of banners we are requesting for at the moment. We have also nominated a volunteer and our technical lead Nokib Sarkar for central notice adminship. If he is selected he can help in the tasks. Link to his nomation can be found here: Meta:Requests for CentralNotice adminship/Nokib Sarkar#Nokib Sarkar. –– Joris Darlington Quarshie (talk) 17:03, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Joris Darlington Quarshie and Nokib Sarkar:
- Thanks, I have prepared the campaigns as follows:
- countries campaign and banner (preview)
- non-countries campaign and banner (preview)
- anon campaign and banner (preview)
- Uruguay: CentralNotice/Request/Wiki Fiestas de Uruguay
- As of now, the anon campaign and non-anon campaigns only slightly differ in amount of display per days/weeks. Do you plan to have different landing pages for these groups? Because in previous years there was no difference for anonymous users. Please updates the accordingly or ping me for that
- Furthermore, please update the list of countries (adding new participating countries to the country campaign and removing them from the non-country campaign) whenever possible and before February at the latest; I can also help with this, please ping me here as well.
- All in all, does this look okay to you? Do you want me to enable the campaigns? Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 13:34, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- @DerHexer, thanks for the work. We will like to request just a change of image for the banners as we are using same images from past few years now. The updated banner is below with the same dimensions and different images. Post image change we are good to go and enable the banners.

- Hi @DerHexer and @Tiven2240 I prepared the WLF campaign for Hungary with all the necessary pages, translations and settings, and I planned to move Hungary from the "non-countries campaign" to the "countries campaign" (I believed that the latter is for the locally participating countries, while the former is for all other countries). But I realized that all three banners (countries, non-countries, anon) point to the same international page, and I couldn't find any practical difference between the codes. If there is a local project for a participating country with a local landing page, why does the banner not link to that page? And why do we have three campaigns for the three identical banners (even though the impression diet is somehow different)? Am I missing something? :) Samat (talk) 18:22, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Samat: Afaics, you don't miss something. I have noted this earlier. However, you can request a separate campaign on CNR as it was done for the campaign of Uruguay (see above), with a separate landing page or whatever needed, and I will mention the separate campaign here as well. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 18:29, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- @DerHexer I thought this is a problem for all participating countries, but apparently this is not the case. How does the local campaigns work for the other countries? (For example in the category for submissions from Germany there are thousands of images, while in the Hungarian category there is none.) If I click on the banner and I use the setting for Hungarian language surface, I am redirected to the translated international page, but on that page the link to upload an image (which is not obvious to find and not very international with the image with English text) point to the
wlf_2025
campaign and not the local ones (wlf-de
orwlf-hu
). What should I change to make it work for Hungary? (Not necessarily with a separate CN campaign.) Thank you! Samat (talk) 13:40, 5 February 2025 (UTC)- My idea was to change the coded link to a localized one here:
link=//commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:UploadWizard&campaign=wlf_2025
. But I wanted to discuss it first (and I don't have access to edit :)) Samat (talk) 13:48, 5 February 2025 (UTC)- I'm not involved in the technical settings of the landing page and uploads. Please reach out to the organizing team. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 15:04, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

[edit]I am sorry for the late request, we will do our best to request the next banners 14 days before as per the rules. We are currently discussing the possibility of my banner admin request to take WMCZ banners out of your hands. Best, --janbery (talk) 16:10, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]- @Janbery:
- Shame on the late request! ;P Two kinds of feedback: The text is longer than in many other banners, is that intended? In my mobile preview, the “Zjistit více” button disappeared which removes the call-to-action; I don't think that this is a good solution.
- Anyway, you can find the campaign and banner (preview). Please check everything, approve it and ping me so that I can enable the campaign.
- For the second part of the campaign, please either ping me/the CN admins here or start a new request. We cannot set multiple dates and cannot promise that we don't forget to update the dates. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 10:32, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]The survey will help us gather initial feedback about these users' experience, and recruit them for future in-depth interviews to validate a UI-based solution we've been working on. All in all, the goal is to collect insights to inform the design requirements of a proof of concept (Phabricator task: T381266)
Metrics - We'd like to get at least 10 valid responses to the survey and recruit a minimum of 5 participants from the same target group to participate in future usability testing sessions.

[edit]Google forms can't be a landing page for a banner. Per CentralNotice/Usage_guidelines#Banner_requirements, "Wikimedia Domains Only — Banners must link only to Wikimedia Foundation or Affiliate-controlled websites, except when using officially approved surveys (see below). They should not include trademarks owned by for-profit entities." Also, please reach out to your colleague's at the Foundation to agree on the usage of CN for survey's. Ciell (talk) 20:37, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- ping for visibility @SSanchez-WMF. Ciell (talk) 20:38, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Non-fundraising campaigns need to be checked, approved and activated by volunteer CN admins, too. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 23:41, 3 December 2024 (UTC) PS: The request template should be filled at some point.
- Thanks for the helpful comments! The request was updated: I added further details regarding our goals and reflected latest decisions (e.g., use of LimeSurvey, change in campaign dates). Conversations with CN coordinators and survey specialists are taking place internally to validate the request or – in lack of approval – find suggestions for alternative channels aligned with our limitations. SSanchez-WMF (talk) 21:28, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Once your CN coordinators have created both the banner as well as the campaign in line with the mentioned guidelines, volunteer CN admins can take a look. The campaign duration looks reasonable and WWikitech is a project which rarely receives banners, so once we hear that the survey itself has been approved, we should be able to give our approval as volunteer CN admins as well.
- @TAndic (WMF) fyi, I think the ping probably didn't reach you. Johannnes89 (talk) 18:57, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Johannnes89 and all! It looks like SSanchez-WMF has added all of the components needed for a survey.
- @SSanchez-WMF: this banner only displays for Help:Toolforge subpages and not the whole wiki, correct? If yes, I think it would make sense to display at 100% coverage (or a similarly high coverage).
- I've reviewed the survey and banner (direct link button with privacy statement linked in banner, similar to the 2024 WMDE wikidata survey) and it is approved from the WMF side. The rest is up to CN admins for changes and approval, let me know if I can be helpful with anything :) -TAndic (WMF) (talk) 15:23, 23 January 2025 (UTC)

- Hello @Johannnes89 and all! It looks like SSanchez-WMF has added all of the components needed for a survey.
- Thanks @Johannnes89 and all for helping to guide this! I'll be working with @SSanchez-WMF to help on the survey side, and I agree this seems like a good candidate for a wikitech banner after discussing off-wiki with Sarai :). I assume this request may stay open into January as the team works to get all the components together (in case it's affecting the CN admins' workflows, no action needed for now). - TAndic (WMF) (talk) 19:51, 11 December 2024 (UTC)

- My apologies for completely misinterpreting @DerHexer's point about filling the survey request template. And thanks for the heads-up and help filling it, @TAndic (WMF). Here's the required information:
- What type of survey is this?
- Other type (please specify): I want to gather information about a unique population: new Toolforge users (who are not present on other communication channels). We need to understand their experience and challenges to inform the planning of a Wikimedia Foundation project (Toolforge UI).
- How many responses do you hope to get?
- At least 10 valid responses, with a minimum of 5 participants agreeing to participate in follow-up interviews.
- Which populations should the survey banner be displayed to?
- Specific criteria: Logged-in and Logged-out users (banner is made to only display on Help:Toolforge subpages on Wikitech)
- Which wikis and countries will the banner display to?
- Wikitech, no country targeting
- Will you be collecting any of these types of data?
- Emails – for optional research participation contact)
- Demographic information (country) – only for determining whether we can share thank-you gifts for research participation
- How will you publish or share your data?
- It will only be used internally.
- Link to your project page (where the survey will be linked and respondents can find out more about the project): This survey does not have a project page as it's for a small population. The WMF staff email and username for contact is available in both the survey and WMF privacy statement.

Sarai needed some JS magic, which got more Foundation staff involved, including me - so I thought it didn't make sense to ask for volunteers' time anymore. The banner is created, the campaign is set up, we can consider this request as approved. SGrabarczuk (WMF) (talk) 16:06, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- @SGrabarczuk (WMF) I don't want to be overly bureaucratic and from our comments it was basically clear, that we agreed with this campaign, but I want to point out that the new CentralNotice/Usage guidelines (which were revised by CN admins & WMF staff) require volunteer approval for all campaigns with the only exemption being fundraising banners.
- If you / other WMF members believe this takes to much time, we should probably start a discussion about further exemptions. But the way the approval guidelines are currently written doesn't leave a different option than asking volunteer CN admins to give their final approval to a prepared campaign + banner (it's of course approved, see my comment above). Best --Johannnes89 (talk) 19:27, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- @SGrabarczuk (WMF): Can you please add the links to the campaign, banner and preview here as it is standard practice for any kind of campaigns? Thanks in advance! Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 13:40, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @DerHexer 👋🏻 The requested banner links were added to the "What banner(s) will you use? What will be your landing page?" section in the above request. Does that suffice? Thank you! SSanchez-WMF (talk) 16:50, 28 January 2025 (UTC)

- Hi @Johannnes89 and @DerHexer! We've discussed the following internally and we'd like to formally request an extension of the duration of this campaign by an additional week. The current end date is set for February 10, 2025, but we've noticed that response rates are even lower than expected given the narrow target. Extending the campaign until February 17, 2025 would give us more time to reach additional participants and hopefully gather more feedback. Would that be acceptable?
- Please let me know if there are any concerns or if additional details are needed. Thank you for your time and consideration! SSanchez-WMF (talk) 14:26, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- @SSanchez-WMF, TAndic (WMF), and SGrabarczuk (WMF): I have extended the campaign duration by one week. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 15:05, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, @DerHexer! Really appreciate your kind help. SSanchez-WMF (talk) 16:26, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- @SSanchez-WMF given that Wikitech rarely receives any banners, I think it would be ok to remove the limitation which currently displays the banner only on Help:Toolforge + subpages, if you think that helps with survey participation. Johannnes89 (talk) 17:33, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, @Johannnes89! I've considered removing the restriction, but there's actually a global announcement being displayed on Wikitech at the moment regarding the SUL migration. We wouldn't like to contribute to creating banner fatigue. (Note: We requested the SUL migration banner to be temporarily suppressed from the subpages we're targeting, but I believe the team couldn't address our request yet – T384534). We're exploring other channels to distribute the survey and recruit participants for our upcoming exploration, so hopefully that will also increase our chances of gathering significant insights. Thanks again for your help! ~ SSanchez-WMF (talk) 18:38, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- The announcement is done via wikitech:MediaWiki:Sitenotice, not sure if it's possible to exclude certain pages, at least I've never seen such a thing with sitenotice. It's of course a good thing that you're aware of potential banner fatigue. Johannnes89 (talk) 18:59, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

[edit]- @Janbery: Please remember that campaigns should be requested two weeks in advance. ;) In parallel, CentralNotice/Request/2% from Income Tax in Slovakia 2025 is running in Slovakia which I have given higher priority: first their banner is shown, then yours (@KormiSK, Jetam2, and JBrungs (WMF): for your information). Czech and Slovak are close enough that one text is sufficiently understandable? — Please also consider running as a CentralNotice admin. :) With the prepared banners, it should be pretty easy for you to set up the campaigns yourself, I think.

[edit]@Johannnes89: could you please check this again? best --Christian Philipp (WMAT) (talk) 10:57, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the ping @Christian Philipp (WMAT)! We appreciate if @Manfred Werner (WMAT) creates the campaign & banner via the CentralNotice interface, once Meta:Requests for CentralNotice adminship/Manfred Werner (WMAT) is successful. It just needs approval from volunteer CN admins per CentralNotice/Usage guidelines#Policies for Affiliates and WMF Staff, but can be created & managed by yourself.
- Per CentralNotice/Usage guidelines campaigns running longer than two weeks usually require community approval. Even if this is an established campaign, the unusually long duration should be discussed with the de(-AT) community.
- Personally I think the duration might be ok, if the banner is running on a low impression diet and with limited traffic, in order to make sure it doesn't annoy editors (and readers) again and again for many weeks... Johannnes89 (talk) 18:40, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
@Johannnes89: @Christian Philipp (WMAT): I have written a notification to the community on de.wikipedia for this banner and also for the second campaign in January (CentralNotice/Request/GLAM digital spring) at Wikipedia:Projektdiskussion. As I am new to this I am not sure how to ask for approval from volunteer CN admins (I could ping some from the list of admins, but I don't know who is active). --Manfred Werner (WMAT) (talk) 12:56, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. You can create both the banner as well as the campaign via the CN admin interface. Once you link the created campaign & banner on this page, volunteer CN admins can take a look. If no-one reacts, you can ping one of the active CN admins mentioned at CentralNotice/Request, preferably (or Ciell who is not on the list, but also active and very helpful as well). Johannnes89 (talk) 19:06, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
I have changed the start date of the campaign in January from 1st to 7th, also talked about it with Christian. It's because I am on vacation around new year's eve and have very limited internet access in this time, so it would be difficult to act if there are issues with the banner or the campaign. --Manfred Werner (WMAT) (talk) 13:22, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
@Manfred Werner (WMAT): Banner is activated, thanks. There was a problem last year with the banner conflicting with coordinates at the upper right corner of a page (difficult to see, not clickable), which I thought, I have fixed by adding some extra empty space below the banner. But obviously this does not work. Do you have a better idea to fix this? best --Christian Philipp (WMAT) (talk) 10:03, 7 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]The campaign settings have been set [16] and the banner created [17]. CN admins, please take a look and let me know if it is alright like this. It's the first time I created a CN. Thank you! --Manfred Werner (WMAT) (talk) 15:36, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Martin Urbanec:@Vermont: Hi, as I am new to this and also that kind of CN admin who is here in the role of a representative of an affiliate, I need and would like to ask you to take a look at the two campaigns I have set up - if they are alright (also technically, I am not sure about the close button here) and can be activated. Thank you! --Manfred Werner (WMAT) (talk) 17:37, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Looks good to me. I don't see a close button in the CN interface preview for some reason, but it works in the onwiki preview [18].
- Restarting the banner cycle every week effectively means users will see the banner 12 times which seems a bit much to me. I suggest either limiting it to two impressions per cycle (= 8 total impressions in 3,5 weeks) or extending the cycle a bit, e.g. to 67435200 seconds (1.5 weeks -> 9 total impressions). Johannnes89 (talk) 11:49, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! I have reduced the maximum impressions to two.
- So, I am just asking again because I am new to this, what should be done now? Will someone activate the campaign?
- There is also another one I created that should have begun today, CentralNotice/Request/GLAM digital spring, but is still marked as open. --Manfred Werner (WMAT) (talk) 16:46, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've activated the campaign, giving my approval as a volunteer CN admin.
- I suggest trying to ping volunteer CN admins again for the GLAM request (those without ties to WMF or affiliates like WMDE). Perhaps checking the different CN logs [19] helps finding someone active. The backlog at CNR suggests, that most volunteer CN admins are currently busy, but given that it's just about approving the banner + campaign you created, there should be somebody who can spend 5 minutes to do that. Johannnes89 (talk) 18:23, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've activated the campaign, giving my approval as a volunteer CN admin.

[edit]I have two questions regarding the banner:

[edit]We'd like to continue the campaign from last year (request). The banner will only be running for two days before the first Wednesday of each month, and will be targeted to users with less than 100 edits.
I can handle the administration of this banner myself, no intervention necessary from other CN admins. :-) Jon Harald Søby (WMNO) (talk) 13:12, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
