As of July 31, there are 195 registered members in all 8 active Wikiclubs (Goris, Ddmashen, Lernapat, Kirants, Koghb, Hatsik, Jermuk, and Kajaran). Wikiclub members continued the wikification of materials from the “Agricultural Encyclopedia” (“Armenian Encyclopedia” Publishing House, 2015) which was released under the Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 license. Wikiclub members either created the missing items of the corresponding pages in Wikidata or linked the created articles with already existing items. It is dedicated to the UEFA Euro 2024 to be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14. In the course of this multi-stage competition project, Wikiclub members translated articles related to the European football championships from other language Wikipedias into Armenian. Articles were created about most of the 622 football players participating in the championship (the number of those articles with those already written before is 592), stadiums, referees, teams, selection process, emblems, etc.

Youth Summer Wikicamp 2024: training for newcomers
[edit]On July 22-30, a training course organized by Wikimedia Armenia took place in order to select participants for the Youth Summer Wikicamp 2024 to be held in Tsaghkadzor on August 11-18, 2024. Out of all applicants 140 were those who had no experience in editing and creating articles on Wikipedia. The training course was organized for them before selecting the best ones for the camp. The training course was held at Wikimedia Armenia office. Those participants who were not comfortable or able to visit the office took the same course under the guidance of Wikimedia Armenia Wikiclub coordinators in the Wikiclubs or online.
53 of the applicants with no editing experience attended the course. They got acquainted with the history of Wikipedia, the Five pillars, the tools and nuances of editing, and also acquired all the skills to publish and finalize an article. Then the newcomers selected articles from other language Wikipedias, which they began to translate into Armenian on their sandboxes.
At the end of the course, only 105 articles with a volume of 1.980.146 bytes were created. The 25 newcomers who actively participated in the training course and showed high results both with quality and quantity became participants of the Youth Summer Wikicamp.
