- WK? Whose Knowledge?
The Wikisource Collaboration Hub (WCH) is a Wikimedia user group to support the Wikisource Community when facing different languages, alphabets, scripts, notations.
The concept
[edit]You can think of this example: on the French Wikisource a text has a long quote in Farsi language written in Arabic script: how can a fr.source user reach and contact a user from a different Wikisource to get help?
You can think of this second example: on en:wikisource there is a book in English about mathematics in Chinese History with a lot of TeX rendering and many Chinese words: how can a en.source user reach and contact users expert in TeX or in Chinese (or in both fields at once)?
History
[edit]Wikisource was originally a multilingual single project like Commons or Meta, but in 2004 it was split in different linguage subdomains to foster language-based communities. Every community ha advanced and thrived and nowadays a large number of books are transcribed but this made interproject communication more challenging.
The Multilingual Wikisource has become more of an Incubator than a hub, and so it may not be the most suitable place for an inter community hub. This page may be the solution.
Below there is a list of people volunteering to help other users in different projects.
Placing your name
[edit]Currently there are no restrictions for becoming a collaborator, any active user in any local Wikisource who want to contribute to make Wikisource a more internationally beautiful project is welcome to join the list and sign up below.
If you want to join the list you should be an active user expert in one or more fields of interest: this is up to your responsibility and you user contributions.
