Notification: Letter of intent for Nenzit Wikimedians User Group

[edit]
Dear Wikimedia Affiliates and Community Members,

We are excited to announce our intent to form the Nenzit Wikimedians User Group, a new Wikimedia user group focused on extending Wikimedia projects to and preserving and expanding free knowledge related to the rich linguistic, cultural, and historical heritage of the Nenzit peoples of Central Nigeria, Northwest Cameroon and northeastern Benin Republic. This user group aims to contribute to Wikimedia projects by increasing the representation of Nenzit history, culture, and languages, ensuring these important topics are accessible to a global audience. We hope to collaborate with organizations and individuals with a common goal to achieve our aim and objectives.

The Tyap Wikimedians User Group focuses on the Tyap language and fellow Plateau languages, but the Nenzit Wikimedians User Group would focus on the wider Platoid languages.

For the complete text, please refer to the Letter of intent.

Notification: Letter of intent for Wikimedia MKD

[edit]

This is the formal request for Wikimedia MKD to get Affiliate recognition as a User Group.

There are two user groups in North Macedonia, and I am giving here the link to the Common Statement between Shared Knowledge and GLAM Macedonia, which can serve as a letter of intent, and as the letter for Affiliate derecognition to GLAM Macedonia and Shared Knowledge.

In 2023, 4 representatives issued from both groups, met, negotiated, and started drafting the necessary documents. Mid-2023, because of the complexity of the matter, they hired a law firm to support the needs of the merger. Several meetings and assemblies were hold by the members of the both groups, in order to vote, and establish the base of the next activities under one entity instead of two.

Notification: Letter of intent for WikiLinguila User Group

[edit]

Dear affiliates and members of the Wikimedia community,

We are pleased to reach out to inform you about the request from our collective, WikiLinguila, which aims to become a Wikimedia user group dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the four national languages of the Democratic Republic of Congo and their cultures. Our goal is to strengthen the digital presence of these languages by creating free and collaborative content, while organizing events and workshops (such as WikiForMotherTongue, WikiNkento, and Wiki100Impact) to raise awareness of cultural and linguistic issues.

Based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, we are currently active in three cities (Kinshasa-Lingála, Matadi-Kikôngɔ, and Mbuji-Mayi-Tshiluba), aligned with the country’s major linguistic regions. WikiLinguila also plans to expand its reach through joint activities at the regional level, particularly in the Pool region, in partnership with Angola and the Republic of Congo, where these languages are also spoken.

For more details, please see our letter of intent.
