Introduction to the Mental Health Resource Center

Welcome. This page aims to provide resources for and about mental health in non-emergency situations. If this is an emergency, please use the list of helplines or emergency numbers above for immediate help. Your safety and emotional well-being is important.

How to use this page

Stigma and lack of knowledge about the topic often stop us from taking care of our emotional well-being. This page lists resources for support during a crisis or challenging time or just to learn more about mental health. We invite you to take a look and learn about your mental health, or give someone a link to this page if you believe it could support them during a difficult time.

If you are unsure where to start, you might start by looking through the General information section.

Resources listed on this page are in a

table which can be sorted by language.

Do you have a resource to suggest? If you have a resource to suggest, please email ca(_AT_)wikimedia.org. As with the Helpline information page, the Wikimedia Foundation’s Trust and Safety team is tasked with maintaining the pages of the Mental Health Resource Center. The Trust and Safety team will do a quarterly review of the content, which will include reviewing any recommended changes left on the talk page. Because this is a resource the Trust and Safety team sends to people who are in crisis, for liability reasons they do have to review substantial changes. However, they very much hope for recommendations and ideas and especially notes of problems.

Here is the checklist the Trust and Safety team will use to review resources for the Mental Health Resource Center. This checklist is meant to help you evaluate whether a mental health resource you want to add to this list is a good and reliable fit. If you find resources that are already on the page do not meet the criteria below, please flag them on the talk page. Thank you for your collaboration!
----
Mandatory criteria:
  • The resource comes from a reliable source (also see Reliable Sources Checklist)
  • The resource fits the scope and purpose of this page and its subcategories
  • The resource is made by or in collaboration with mental health professionals
  • The resource is permanent and up-to-date (expected to be accessible and useful in the future)
  • The resource provider, its mission and organizational history does not conflict with the Wikimedia Foundation’s shared values
Nice to have criteria:
  • The resource is multilingual/in a language that is underrepresented on this page so far
  • The resource is useful for an online movement and its members
