[edit]I have been active on the Wikimedia projects for nearly 10 years, during which period I've been involved in various structure groups of the Wikimedia Foundation, including the Wikimedia Foundation Board Election Committee, WikidataCon 2017 Program committee, Wikimedia Foundation Communication Committee, co-editor of the Wikimedia Research Newsletter and past member of the Wikimedia Volunteer Response Team. I have been instrumental in either setting up or providing support for organizations that have a deep commitment to improving knowledge equity gaps across Wikimedia projects; these include GOI Foundation and Dagbani Wikimedians User Group -- where I sit on their boards, and Art+Feminism -- where I am one of the co-leads running global campaigns in an attempt to narrow the gender gap by improving coverage of women and feminism on Wikipedia. I am familiar with Grants:Project as I have been a grantee to a number of projects myself or collectively with the organizations that I am affiliated with.
For grants I've personally received:
- Grants:Project/Rapid/Masssly/Project X
- Grants:Project/Rapid/Masssly/Parliament of Ghana/Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana
- FindingGLAMs/Minor grants/Wikidata, Librarians and Linked Open Data
For grants I've received as part of a team/group:
- Please see Global_Open_Initiative/Resources#Grants
- Grants:Project/Global Open Initiative/Wikidata GLAMs Campaign Ghana
- Please see Dagbani Wikimedians User Group/Projects
- Please see Category:Art+Feminism reports
I am currently a member of the projects grant committee. As an intern with the Community Resources team at the Wikimedia Foundation, my role included support for APG staff. I also helped facilitate Wikimedia Foundations’s Funds Dissemination Committee deliberations, and supported Community Capacity Development research in emerging communities in the Global South.
In my professional life, I've previously worked as an instructor at the university. Currently, I am a member of the Wikidata software development team at Wikimedia Germany.
The combined effect of these experiences has broadened my perspective of Wikipedia’s diverse demographic communities and given me a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by our volunteer community and partners.
I have in the past deliberated the impact of Wikimedia Foundation grants especially in the Global South, and I am particularly looking for an opportunity to be able to add a voice to advance equity and diversity in the evaluation of Simple APG. -—M@sssly✉ 21:02, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

I am an active Wikimedian from Morocco who joined officially the Wikimedia movement 7 years ago (I created this account on October 2013). I am a co-founder of Wikimedia Morocco, which is the user group supporting Moroccan Wikimedians, as well as promoting Wikimedia projects in our country. I am also an administrator of the Moroccan Arabic version of Wikipedia, launched in July 2020 after several years in the incubator.
I have participated and co-organized several conferences, either on regional level (WikiArabia, WikiIndaba) or thematic (Wiki convention Francophone, Wikimedia Diversity Conference), or the international ones (Wikimedia Summit, Wikimania). Most recently, I was the co-chair or WikiArabia 2019 conference that we hosted in Marrakesh, and the volunteer coordinator for Wikimania 2019 in Stockholm.
I have also been extensively involved in Wikimedia 2030 Strategy process within several roles, including being an Advocacy Working group member, a connector, and a member of the design team, voted by the Arabic speaking Wikimedia community to represent them. I have also worked between March 2019 and June 2020 as a Strategy liaison for the Arabic language for the WMF.
I have applied for several grants earlier, and participated in communication administration, and organization work related to them. Among the rapid grants I applied to are: language interpretation grant, travel grant and event grant. Hi! Sorry for the delay!
I think I would be a good addition to the Simple Annual Plan Grants Committee because of my Wikimedian knowledge acquired from the inside of the community and my multicultural experiences and skills.
I am an afro-Caribbean based in Switzerland that contributes on Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata focused on increasing the knowledge about non-white History and people. I co-lead Blackening Wikipedia activities in Universities, Museums, Archives and Activism centers. Since the covid pandemic I have been hosting editathons online. They take place ounce per week since November 2020.
I learnt editing during the 2018 Art+Feminism week organized by the project les sans pagEs (nowadays a usergroup) . My interest was to create biographies of Dominican visual artists, as History of Art is my field in real life and more than 50% of the artists I know do not have their Wikipedian entry. The gender focus of les sans pagEs spoke to me and I improved my skills editing on other than my original objective, participating in les sans pagEs contests and assisting the founder of the project, Nattes à Chat. Over the months, I was missing the inter-sectional approach. While co-organizing a cycle of editathons in the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Geneva, I met AfricanadeCuba and together with her idea and my yearning we created the projects Noircir Wikipédia and Ennegreciendo Wikipedia. In 2020 I lead one to two edithatons per month. Some of the series of edithatons that I have participated actively, co-organized or lead are: 100 mujeres centroamericanas, Mujeres de Trayectoria y Compromiso, Gender in the Making, Women of Colors (ES), Women of Colors (FR), a webinar given to the public of the Bibliothèque Numérique des Caraïbes in January 2020 on how to contribute in Wikipedia, in partnership with the Afrocrowd user group and an editathon at the Antropology Museum of Geneva.
Last but not least, I have the time this year (at least) required for the committee engagement.
