Digitisation & Wikibase presentation in PNVM
[edit]CIS-A2K had a meeting with Pune Nagar Vachan Mandir library trustees on 4 November 2022 and it was about the proposed Wikibase pilot project. The format for preparing the structured data of authors and their works for the Marathi language was finalised. During the meeting, A2K engaged them for a long orientation session to understand the Wikidata, and Wikibase concepts and discussed the potential, tentative process and the future impact. Indic Wikisource Community/Online meetup 12 November 2022
[edit]The Indic Wikisource Community Online meetup was organized to discuss and plan the coming Indic Wikisource proofread-a-thon in November 2022. It was a pre-event call of Indic Wikisource proofread-a-thon November 2022. There were 30 participants in the call to know more about Wikisource Proofread-a-thon. The objectives of the call were to participate in Indic Wikisource proofread-a-thon November 2022 book collection, queries regarding Indic Wikisource proofread-a-thon November 2022, suggestions/opinions/reviews anything are welcome regarding the Contest procedure, gifts and prizes for the contest selection. Indic Wikisource proofread-a-thon November 2022
[edit]Indic Wikisource proofread-a-thon November 2022 is an annual contest for the Indic communities which happens twice a year. It is an effort to promote the online activity to the Wikisource project, CIS-A2K team organised a Proofreadthon for Indic Wikisources. On all Indic Wikisource, A2K and the community have chosen a short selection of classical texts to be proofread. Each page's proofreading won points for the proofreader, according to the described Rules. This time A2K opened new virtual and on-ground support for communities and three communities, Punjabi, Marathi and Hindi, received this support and did a great job. A total of 179 books were proofread by different language users on different Indic Wikisources. The proofread-a-thon winner's list is also updated here. The languages that participated this time are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil and Telugu. The communities did read more...
Upcoming Event
[edit]Indic Wiki Improve-a-thon 2022
[edit]Indic Wiki Improve-a-thon 2022 will be a 20-day long edit-a-thon from 15 December to 5 January 2023. During the event, any Indic community or individual can participate in any local/Indian language. The edit-a-thon has a specific theme on 'Azadi Ka Mahotsav'. The Indian communities, affiliates and individuals participated according to their availability and contribute enthusiastically.
