Indic Wikisource proofread-a-thon April 2023
[edit]The Indic Wikisource proofread-a-thon run from 1 April 2023 to 15 April 2023 (inclusive). The focus of the Indic Wikisource is to promote online activity to the Wikisource project, the CIS-A2K team organised a Proofreadthon for Indic Wikisource. On all Indic Wikisource, there are communities chosen a short selection of classical texts to be proofread. Each page proofread will win points for the proofreader, as described in the Rule section. Every page helps and it is not necessary to complete any text within this editathon, just to add to the work done in making these available to all. Launching of GLAM project at ACPR, Belagavi
[edit]As the works of Gurudev Ranade are in the public domain as per Indian Copyright law, the Academy of Comparative Philosophy & Religion (ACPR) has planned to digitise the books published by them and others. The academy has approached CIS-A2K to facilitate the archive project on Gurudev Ranade, which will include works by Gurudev, works on Gurudev & his philosophy, images and audio-visuals. The ACPR academy was founded in 1952 as a Public Trust in the Educational & Research category at Belagavi in Karnataka state. The academy was conceived by philosopher, scholar and saint R. D. alias Gurudev Ranade way back in 1924 in Pune and started its work. It was formally registered in 1952. On 24 October, the session to introduce Wikimedia projects and the archive process to ACPR trustees and members was conducted at Lokmanya Granthalaya Hall, Belagavi. In this session, an elaborate demonstration of all Wikimedia projects was done. A discussion on copyright issues, relicensing procedures and organisational compliances was held. Upcoming Events
[edit]Mula Mutha Nadi Darshan
[edit]CIS-A2K has started a campaign, called Mula Mutha Nadi Darshan (MMND). However, it is a campaign cum contest to document the Mula & Mutha rivers and their tributaries in the Pune district on Wikimedia Commons in the form of images and videos. The campaign started on 15 May and will end on 30 June 2023. This is the second iteration of Pune Nadi Darshan 2022 which was organised by CIS-A2K in 2022. The campaign cum contest is happening with the help of the campaign partners Jeevitnadi, Ecological Society, Samuchit Enviro Tech, Nisarg Sevak and National Society for Clean Cities.
