WikiFoodtival or use the Thai name วิกิหัวป่าก์ (formerly Wikimedia Thailand/Wiki Loves Food) is an activity promoting culinary content on Thai Wikipedia, Thai Wikibooks, and Thai Wiktionary. The campaign will be held from December 11, 2023, in memory of Plian Paadsakornwong (th), the author of Mae Krua Hua Bpak Cookbook (th; A woman who is born to love cooking and being in the kitchen) and one of Thailand's prominent culinary figures, to January 10, 2024. This activity aims to give the community the opportunities to create articles about food, desserts, and beverages, inspired by Wiki Selera of Wikimedia Malaysia and WikiSanganan of Wikimedia Indonesia in combination with Wiki Loves Food campaigns held previously on Wikimedia Commons.
Rules
[edit]- Create an article about food, a dessert, or a beverage with the contribution of at least 2,000 bytes and not fewer than 300 words on Thai Wikipedia (in encyclopedia manner as in the policy) or on Thai Wikibooks (in textbook manner or steps of cooking or making a beverage as in the policy).
- The article(s) must be created between December 11, 2023 – January 10, 2024.
- Participants will receive 10 marks for an approved article and special marks if the article becomes a featured article or a good article or has an image belonging to the author. (Find out more at special marks and special rules for the image owner)
- Conditions for marking
- For Wikipedia articles, there must be proper citations of reliable sources complimenting the content. The content must not be biased. The articles must not show any sign of technical errors.
- For Wikibooks, the articles must not be copyright violation (Learn more at close paraphrasing and frequently asked questions) and follow the cookbook policy of the project.
- Participants acknowledge and abide by Universal Code of Conduct.
Remarks: If the article does not follow the conditions of the project, the article could be nominated for deletion by the community or deleted by an admin as stated in the policy of the project.
Special marks
[edit]- +40 marks per one featured article on Thai Wikipedia (Read more at Featured article criteria)
- +30 marks per one good article on Thai Wikipedia (Read more at Good article criteria)
Special rules for the image owner
[edit]- The participants who put their own images or animated pictures of food, desserts, or a beverages on Thai Wikipedia, Thai Wikibooks, and Thai Wiktionary will receive 3 marks per one page for uploading their own images (regardless of the number of the images).
- Only the images uploaded on Wikimedia Commons during the time of this activity (December 11, 2023 – January 10, 2024) will be marked.
- The participants should not put numerous images on a page on Thai Wiktionary since the usual Wiktionary pages each have one image. If there are too many images on one page, some of them could be remove.
- In case an image file is put on many pages, only one of the pages with the image file will be marked.
- In order that the participant would like to receive special marks from uploading their own images on Wikimedia Commons, new user can learn how to upload the image at [[Commons:First steps/Uploading files|First steps/Uploading files]. (For the participants who put an image belonging to someone else, if the articles pass the assessment criteria, 10 marks will be given per an article as the usual rules.)
Deadline
[edit]The deadline is 10 January 2024, 24:00 (UTC +7).
Judging
[edit]- Marking will start on 10 February 2024 after the featured articles and good articles assessment (if there are nominations) whether the articles pass the criteria.
- The results announcement will be around February 15–20, 2024.
Remarks: Please be aware that the announcement will be around that period. The organizers will contact the participants via the Talk page of the participants' user page. In case the participant does not reply to the organizers within 2 weeks, the organizers will transfer the awards to another Thai Wikimedia participant inferior to the previous participant.

- Herbal inhaler, medium bottle, for the top 5 winners.
- 2 books for those who get 100 points or more.
- 1 book for those who get 20–99 points.
- Barnstar from the organizer for all participants who score 10 points or more.
