Minutes of meeting

  • The meeting began with salutations between the Wikimedians and the Ethnic Languages Unit, Ministry of Education.
  • Information about Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia as well as Wikimedia projects were presented to the Ministry.
  • Emphasis on indigenous ethnic languages were touched upon as a potential avenue for collaboration.
  • Potential integration of Wikimedia projects in the school curriculum and co-curriculum throughout the country was discussed. The implementation would take place starting 2027.
  • Careful planning of teaching modules would need to be done before the implementation could take place.
  • Overall, the meeting was very fruitful and it is expected that Wikimedia projects will be a great addition to schools in Malaysia.
