About

[edit]

This is the Malaysia-level event for the global campaign Ukraine's Cultural Diplomacy Month 2024. It is a Wikipedia editing workshop and edit-a-thon session that focuses on Ukrainian cultural articles in Wikipedia.

This is the second year for the event in Malaysia. Wikimedia HELP University Society organizes it, Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia, and the Embassy of Ukraine in Malaysia.

Topics of discussion

[edit]
  • The event was titled "Ukraine Edit-a-thon with Wikimedia HELP University Society" which is a newly created club and society in HELP University by Wiki Asmah (talk · contribs) who is a student in the university. This edit-a-thon was held to celebrate Ukraine Diplomacy Month. Thus, the editing and translation of the article was made in conjunction with diplomacy (i.e. topics on notable people in Ukraine, Ukrainian culture and heritage, and many others) about Ukraine from the English language to Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, and Bulgarian.

Results

  • The full results of the edit-a-thon can be found in the Outreach Dashboard and the Event Metrics.
