Offer
Wikimedia Deutschland offers a range of support programs that can be useful for joint projects. This could for example be:
- Provision of rooms, insurance, catering / meals and the reimbursement of travel costs, e.g. for the organization or participation in:
- Workshops for presenting the projects to each other
- Mapping tours, e.g. to record facilities for OSM and Wikivoyage/Wikidata (example project (German only))
- Mapping parties and edit-a-thons, e.g. for the systematic recording of certain subject areas in OSM, Wikipedia lists and Wikidata and the mutual linking of information relevant to all pages, such as Stolpersteine, architectural monuments, Berlin water pumps, and the like
- Conferences like WikiCon (German only), State of the Map oder FOSSGIS-Conference
- Loan or purchase of equipment, for example:
- GPS devices for recording georeferenced objects
- Cameras for Mapillary recordings
- Drones suitable for aerial photography and mapping
- Video projectors for OSM regulars’ tables or other events
- Refunds for government requests for the release and import of geodata
- Awarding of prizes for mapping competitions
- Provision of mailing lists for joint project coordination, e.g. osm@wikipedia.de
- Special offers for Wikivoyage and OSM contributors taking trips (e.g. payment of mobile phone charges for mapping)
- Support for the targeted linking of existing media archives such as Wikimedia Commons, Mapillary, and OSM Buildings
- Use of local community spaces (German only) for one-time or regular OSM meetings
This is only a selection of the possibilities. Additional ideas and individual requests are always welcome.
