The address will be set up as a forwarding “alias” to an e-mail address that you specify. Ask your provider what technical steps are necessary so that you also send e-mails with this address, not only receive them. Unfortunately, this is not possible with all providers.

Mailing lists

Wikimedia Deutschland provides mailing lists for projects, which are usually assigned with the format[project-l] @ ... and one of the domains listed above. In order to share the responsibility among several people, mailing lists should be applied for and administered by two to three project participants.

Business Cards

In addition to the project logo, business cards contain first and last name, and/or user name, e-mail address, phone number and, if desired, a home address. Usually, 100 cards are printed per request.

Approach

The prerequisite for obtaining e-mail addresses or business cards is the active and regular participation in Wikipedia or its sister projects, which is usually determined based on the right to vote in de-WP.

Send the completed and signed form (see below) to the Wikimedia chapter of the country where you reside. You'll get a notification when the e-mail address has been set up. Business cards are sent to the specified address.

→ Here you can find additional information on setting up the e-mail address.

Documentation

Please tell us and others about your experiences, for example on a subpage of your user page and link them here (in German only). By doing so, you will on the one hand help the Wikimedia organizations to understand the benefits of the support initiative; on the other, your experiences can be helpful to others. Did the address actually help you to open doors? Are you now being taken more seriously as project staff by organizers or media?
