time to update
[edit]In the spirit of this request, this navbox should be discussed. If it is considered for all elections, as the generic title suggests, than it should include also a link Affiliate-selected Board seats and their elections year in the final list. It's less confusing than two separated template, IMHO. Otherwise, we create a small template for these elections but the name of this template is changed to something like "WMF community elections". For a few line more, I would not create two templates but you decice.--Alexmar983 (talk) 20:28, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
- User:Bluerasberry FYI a general reorganization will include also this lateral navbox.--Alexmar983 (talk) 20:57, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
I have updated the underlying templates for 2020, but given that the FDC 2019 elections were not held as announced, Wikimedia Foundation elections/2020 is tentatively worded with "TBD" for the details. EllenCT (talk) 21:35, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
Updates for 2021 - How do I start?
[edit]Hi all, The Board Election facilitation team is working on adding content on Meta to support the 2021 Board of Trustees election. A step in this process is to update this template for 2021. I have not done this before. How would I start this process? I see the "submit an edit request" option but I do not know what to put there. Do I describe what needs to be changed or do I put the wiki text updates there? Thanks for your guidance on this. Best, JKoerner (WMF) (talk) 17:45, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
- @JKoerner (WMF): Thanks, I was just noticing the same thing. The 2020 links are visible on pages like Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/Board_elections. Maybe look into whether the template can be removed entirely? Newer pages use
{{Board_Elections_2021_Nav}}
instead. - To edit protected pages, you should request temporary admin privileges, or find a colleague on this list. —Adamw (talk) 19:51, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

- @Pppery: using a div clear is rather routine, what is subsequently calling this template that can't handle it? — xaosflux Talk 15:39, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
- Nothing is subsequently calling this template. The problem is that the div is inside of a call to {{menu}}, and the = in the styling is being interpreted as a parameter separator for {{menu}}, not as styling. The thing that is not routine is a div clear inside of a template argument. This is causing actual pages like Wikimedia Foundation elections 2013/Committee to not render properly (the entire "History" section at the bottom of the sidebar is blank). * Pppery * it has begun 15:43, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
