Personal info: It is again with pleasure that I note that the steward body has been able to support the Wikimedia family of projects. My own contribution as steward this past year was less obvious, as I volunteered to support the corpus of Wikimedia projects as a member m:Ombudsman commission. As one of the new volunteers had to withdraw prior to the term starting, I will continue to serve on the commission this year. I request of you the privilege and opportunity to continue to serve Wikimedia as a steward, as I feel I still provide value, whether it be actively on-wiki or through discussions and consensus-building among the stewards as the cases require. As always, I appreciate your collective trust in allowing me this opportunity, and I hope to continue to be worthy of your trust in the coming year.

Persoonlijke informatie: Het is opnieuw mijn genoegen op te merken dat de stewardgemeenschap de verschillende Wikimediaprojecten heeft kunnen ondersteunen. Mijn eigen bijdrage als steward was dit jaar minder opvallend, aangezien ik de Wikimediaprojecten ondersteunde als lid van de Ombudsmancommissie. Ik weet niet of ik mij hier dit jaar opnieuw mee ga bezighouden, dat zal afhangen van de reactie op de vraag naar vrijwilligers. Indien ik uit de commissie zou stappen, ben ik van plan mij opnieuw meer bezig te houden met het uitvoeren van CheckUsers en Oversights crosswiki. Remove Not because I do not trust Avraham (I think he's been doing a great job as a Commons oversighter, and I cannot comment on his OC activity due to lack of information), but because I think that being a steward and a member of the Ombudsman Commission is a conflict of interest and violates the principle of separation of powers, given that the OC are supposed to investigate misuse of the CheckUser tool which all stewards have access to. odder (talk) 18:42, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Remove solely because I don't think that stewards should be on the Ombudsman Commission. Not for the usual reasons of people wanting the auditors and stewards to be different people, but because in the two other recent cases of a steward/OC combination it has not worked out well for them, with a sharp reduction in steward activity, and then a resignation from either stewardship or the OC. I feel that the roles are incompatible because the time needed to serve in both roles is too great, and one or the other gets robbed greatly. Avraham's activity has gone down similar to the other two cases, and with all the other rights they hold and the lengthy track record of inactivity in them, I fear that they will be mostly inactive next term. --Rs chen 7754 18:43, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Keep, I believe that double jobbing is acceptable as long as steward voluntarily does not engage in any CU actions that are subject to control of the Ombudsman commission. Neutral ~~Unfortunately, it's with a heavy heart that I must oppose~~. I believe that he's taken on too many roles and has stretched himself too thin with his available time. As an OTRS agent, from the queues that I can see (info-en, commons, permission) his last activity was over a year and a half ago. As a steward, he's only made about 25 logged actions in the past year, with 4 months of zero activity. As a member of the ombudsman committee, I had sent a concern to the group and follow up emails directly to Avraham. Sadly, it took a few weeks to a month between our correspondences. While I'm greatly appreciative for all of his contributions to the project, I think it would be better for the community if he focuses his efforts. Mike V • Talk 23:20, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral Avraham is not very active on the front-end of steward work, but he is more active in mailing list discussions and such. We need more stewards who actively engage with meaningful comments in those discussions, which he certainly does. The abuse filter system account has been around for quite some time now, and it is rather surprising that you would be unaware of this and further defend your action after thanking it for its service. Keep - While I'm certainly in a COI here, I personally see no big issues with stewards being also OC members. I would support if the WMF would suspend the rights during the term as OC member, just as they did it some years ago. However, that is something that probably needs to be discussed with WMF. In my point of view, it's not actually fair to oppose someone because he's a member of another committee.
