Question and idea[edit]

Hello Liuxinyu970226, how are you doing?

I'd like to ask you to help me with something: I'd like to add some translation requests from Brazil related articles on the Chinese Wikipedia, but since I was unsure about the Google Translate results, I was unsure if it was ok to just submit it. The pages are those, and you may translate something if you find any interesting (I know that there are at least two variants of the Chinese language and I would be glad to see the pages on any of those): VLS-1 V01, V02, V03, List of Brazilian satellites, Paulo de Mello Bastos, Santos Dumont's experiments in Monaco, Aristides Leão, Félix I, Urânia Vanério, Brésil (spherical balloon), Pax airship disaster, Luís Gama (related 内托问题 could be expanded), 2022 Brazilian coup plot and the Legality Campaign.

While thinking about this, I've had an idea that might turn into an exciting discussion/proposal: with all of this history about the BRICS and its expansion, would it be possible or interesting to create an “BRICS User Group” to develop some exchange and support between the Wiki users from those countries? Something like that has been ever attempted? I'm picturing it as a way to create an “exchange of translations”, where articles from each country (or representing the relationship between each country - an example, none of the CBERS satellites articles are available in the Zh. Wiki) may be translated into any other language from the group. The group, hopefully, might also be a way to support the Wikis in minorities languages (while South Africa have the English language in an official status, it would be the group focus of supporting the Zulu Wiki) or being currently incubated. With the group expansion, I'd think that there might be a lot of small Wikis that may enjoy a general attention, while in the early stage the group may only focus on the main founding countries/languages (since at first the project would need to build a good user base).

What do you think?

PS: The Projeto Portinari will perform the exposition of "War and Peace" by Candido Porinati at China at the end of this year (source). It might be relevant to also submit the Project's page for translation. Erick Soares3 (talk) 22:55, 25 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

User:Genggi Tetomu[edit]

How to edit other people's user page? Thanks! Btw, this list is incomplete. He has hundreds of sock accounts and hundreds of IPs over the years. I'm too lazy to list them all, so I only listed his main socks. Nguyentrongphu (talk) 06:09, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Nguyentrongphu Maybe ask adminships with CheckUser accesses? As mentioned by others, on viwiki these would be DHN and Mxn. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 06:40, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't need checkuser to catch him. I've been dealing with him for many years. I know a duck when I see one. Anyways, my question is how can I edit User:Genggi Tetomu? The system doesn't let me edit that page. Nguyentrongphu (talk) 06:45, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I got this message from the system when I tried to edit another user page:

Warning: "At Meta it is not usual for a user to edit someone else's user page. A user's main user page would generally only be edited by the user. Please consult with the user on their talk page for edits you are suggesting. If this is your user page, then you may need to login to edit. If this user page is an alternate or a shared account, then you will need to log in to the respective user account to edit. (Noting that many Wikipedias do not allow editing from shared or organisational accounts.) If you have received this message in error, or you have a serious concern about the content of a user page, please let us know.

If the page in question is spam, or similarly problematic, please use the corresponding talk page and mark with either {{edit protected}} or {{delete}}, and your comment. Thank you." Nguyentrongphu (talk) 06:47, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, that guy might have different issue, as that user said "I have good contributions on Incubator", and Ajraddatz told me to withdraw my attempt to request global ban. Probably needs more focus on their future behaviors. Sorry for my fault looking, I originally guess you're editing POSSUM one. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 06:51, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
You haven't answered my question. Best regards! Nguyentrongphu (talk) 06:55, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you're trying to mark Genggi as a sock, I added. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 06:59, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! How come you can edit another user page, but I can't? Nguyentrongphu (talk) 07:00, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Umm, I haven't enough time for focusing that thing. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 07:15, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
