My administrative rights on pl.wikiquote.org
[edit]I have received information that I meet the criteria for inactivity on pl.wikiqote.org. Therefore, I have posted a message on the page https://pl.wikiquote.org/wiki/Wikicytaty:Bar#WA%C5%BBNE:_Kontrola_aktywno%C5%9Bci_administrator%C3%B3w_2 to inform the community and allow them to express their opinion. I will inform about the results. --MariuszR (talk) 20:53, 25 February 2025 (UTC)--
- To date, no one has commented on the discussion regarding my administrative powers on pl.wikiquote.org. As a result of the above, I request that my permissions remain in place.
- The termination of inactive accounts, is to prevent them from being taken over, by unauthorised persons. My account is still under my control and I ensure that it is properly secured. @MariuszR MariuszR (talk) 13:17, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- If there are no objections until 24 March there should be no problem for you to keep the rihgts. EPIC (talk) 13:20, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
Automoderator for small Wikipedias
[edit]Hi, I'm the Product Manager for the mw:Moderator Tools team. You may be aware that we've been working on a product called Automoderator, anti-vandalism software which uses a machine learning model to identify and revert vandalism. We want to provide the opportunity for trusted global contributors to use Automoderator on small Wikipedia projects (see T372280) for an overview and some prior discussion. To that end, at last week's Stewards/Foundation call we discussed piloting Automoderator on a handful (5-10) of small projects, so that you could discuss configurations and evaluate effectiveness. I've filed a detailed Phabricator ticket at T388254 with the specific questions that need answering for this pilot to proceed. Please take a look at the ticket and post answer to any of the questions that you have opinions on. I'm happy to answer questions about Automoderator here or on Phabricator. My administrative rights on an.wikipedia.org
[edit]I have left a message in the local Village Pump ("tabierna") of aragonese wikipedia stating that I can resume the activity another year and that I can continue as an administrator. [1].--EBRO (talk) 22:15, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- @EBRO: I believe this request should go in Steward requests/Permissions. Kind regards, –FlyingAce✈hello 00:03, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
- @FlyingAce nope this is a response to the Admin activity review/2024, we asked users to respond on this page if they want to keep their permissions. Johannnes89 (talk) 07:59, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
U4C-rights change
[edit]FYI, the U4C requested temporary giving checkuser-log to our usergroup (change is already made). You can read the details here. Best regards, Luke081515 15:22, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- This was done in Special:Redirect/logid/59187298 by User:EPIC. Not sure why this would have required any sort of "private request" as opposed to a public request, as the change is public. — xaosflux Talk 19:01, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux The announcement was made publicly, then a U4C member informed stewards about it. EPIC did the action, and another steward asked that future requests also be copied to SN. Can you clarify the nature of your objection? AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 05:29, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Not an objection, just an inquiry as the rights log called out that there was a "private request". My inquiry is about what sort of privacy was needed. I expect requests to change global group permissions be made publicly in usual venues (steward requests or even here). Related, this was specifically requested as temporary, how are we tracking this against the temporary condition? — xaosflux Talk 09:24, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- As the U4C motion says, it's temporary until the conclusion of Universal Code of Conduct/Coordinating Committee/Cases/Systemic failure in enforcing the code of conduct in Hebrew Wikipedia. I expect we'll get another motion asking for it to be removed when that happens. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 01:40, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

RfC closure
[edit]Requests for comment/Welcoming policy is overdue for a closure - I think the points that are going to be made have been made. * Pppery * it has begun 03:11, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- Similar to the request below I would expect the wikis affected to be notified by the RfC initiator in order to allow RfC participation and make them aware of potential changes if the policy gets adopted. Johannnes89 (talk) 19:41, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
Consensus should be clear here. * Pppery * it has begun 19:00, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Have the wikis (potentially) affected [2] been notified about the RfC? Requests for comment/Policy#Initiating an RFC usually expects notifications, this RfC has apparently gone largely unnoticed, I don't see why just 10 users (including one sockpuppet and one opposing comment) should be able to implement such a change.
