Request for MassMessage senders permission

I am writing on behalf of the Wikipedia Asian Month User Group to inform you that we are about to kick off the Wikipedia Asian Month campaign. We will be sending invitations to Asian communities and past participants. As part of our initiative, we will also be awarding Barnstars to ambassadors and participants after the campaign concludes. The Wikipedia Asian Month campaign is an annual event that has been successfully held for the past nine years. We aim to continue this initiative as a long-term and continuous effort, and thus, I am seeking permanent permission for its ongoing execution.

To be honest I'm not sure how to feel about handing mass message permissions to a really new user. Did you receive an intro on how to send mass messages by other WAM members like @Joycewikiwiki?

Given that you want to sent your message to user talk pages in different non-english projects, you should check global message delivery (and the other pages linked there) and change your message accordingly, e.g. by wrapping your message in <div lang="en" dir="ltr"></div>. Also your mass message should include Wikilinks pointing to the meta pages of WAM... Johannnes89 (talk) 05:47, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for your response. Yes, I am a beginner with Wikipedia, but I am also learning how to handle everything with @Joycewikiwiki, who has already given me a brief introduction of MassMessage. Before sending out the MassMessage, I will ensure that the content and procedure are correct by consulting with Joyce. Since I have just become the main coordinator for WAMUG, I will be responsible for organizing this year's event, so obtaining this permission is an important step in assisting with the event.

Please re-read the linked page. Among other things it says "Be careful with links. Most of them typically link to Meta, thus must be in the form of [[m:Some Meta Page|text]]. Otherwise they will appear red on the target wiki". Once you send out mass messages to targets outside metawiki, details like that need to be followed. Before granting mass message permissions (which by the way should have been requested at Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat instead of this talk page per Meta:MassMessage senders) I would like to see that basics like that are known. Hi Johannnes89, thanks for your patient and guidance. Betty2407 is a paid staff of WAMUG and I will no longer be WAM organizor starting from this year. For the preparation of messages, my experience in wikiediting is also limited, however, we do have other wiki eiditors'support on training us. Once Betty fulfill the current task and requirement, I Will make sure the preparation of message and the list of link is good.

Request for MassMessage senders permission

This message is sent on behalf of the Wikipedia Asian Month User Group. I joined the Wikipedia Asian Month User Group about two months ago and am currently the main contact for this user group. With the support of our partners from Wikimedia Taiwan, I will be responsible for this year's WAM campaign. Although I am a newcomer, I am working hard to learn about Wikimedia movement matters.

To prepare for this year's WAM campaign, we need to send invitations to past organizers and convene a call to exchange ideas and opinions about this year's campaign. Here is the sending list and the content.

In addition to this call for past organizers, we will also need to send invitations to potential participants and Barnstars to award winners in the future. Therefore, I would like to request permission to use the MassMessage senders tool.
