Formatting fix
Steward_requests/Global_permissions/2013-03 - closing strike tag hasn't been added properly, resulting in the rest of the page being striken. Changing the second <s>

Request for patroller/rollbacker right for user Zoranzoki21 on this wiki
Hi, I would like to get patroller/rollbacker right so I can quickly reverts vandalisms on pages. Zoranzoki21 (talk) 17:08, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- Both of your recent reverts were for edits that were likely made in good faith. This edit was likely the user putting the translation in the wrong area (the text is a translation of the title), and this edit again seems like a good-faith addition by someone who isn't very familiar with how Meta works. In these cases, the (undo) button should be used, and you should add an edit summary that explains what the user has done wrong. Because you don't have much other experience reverting vandalism here, I'm going to say Not done for now, but I'd be happy to reconsider in the future. – Ajraddatz (talk) 17:24, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Ajraddatz: I know to for these things should be used undo button. User which made this edit, asked me on email what he did wrong. I told him what is wrong and I explained him how he should work. Thank you for your trust! Zoranzoki21 (talk) 17:28, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Edit to archive
Implement this edit to Steward requests/Permissions/2013-06, to prevent the entire bottom half of the page from showing up in small green font. Pppery (talk) 17:11, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
- Done – Ajraddatz (talk) 17:36, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
There's a lot of archived pages that suffer from similar font issues. What should be done about them? Pppery (talk) 21:58, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
- Are they greatly affecting the archives usability? Or are they just appearing as lint errors. If it is minor issues, or just Linter errors, then, sort of falls into the <shrug> space with broken links, etc. If they are actually problematic, then we can look to fix them. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:09, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
- I'd personally be happy to fix any specific examples that are found, but generally I don't think a concerted effort is needed. While they are annoying they don't impair the functionality of the archives. – Ajraddatz (talk) 23:25, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
- These do cause large visual displays (ex: in Steward requests/Permissions/2014-04 (which I tried to fix, triggering Special:AbuseLog/552417) , the entire bottom of the page appears in blue and the bottom of the page appears as code in Steward requests/Permissions/2005), so they aren't just lint errors, although Ajraddatz is right that they don't exactly impair the functionality of the archives. Pppery (talk) 00:03, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- I don't see the harm in someone wanting to fix them. The filter could just be brought down to
& !("autopatrol" in user_rights)
while someone fixes them. It can be restored after they are done. Nihlus 00:49, 18 February 2019 (UTC)- It is the philosophical question that should be answered first of what is the status of our archives, and what do we want done within them, and by whom; as the restriction placed was at the level that the stewards indicated. I am not worried about the technical solution, there are numbers of solutions available. — billinghurst sDrewth 01:38, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Reduced to patroller for now. Leaderboard (talk) 12:40, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Leaderboard: Really? Let me see the consensus for that. Oh wait, there isn't one. This was set at the level per their stewards' opinion. So maybe you as the most recent admin in, you could portray some patience rather than feel the need to flex some new authority. — billinghurst sDrewth 13:36, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Billinghurst: I am not trying to flex anything of any type. I was allowed to improve the abusefilters, and that is what I am doing (in this case to reduce false-positives while keeping it effective). Feel free to revert any of my changes, with reason. Thanks. Leaderboard (talk) 14:06, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Leaderboard: The permissions set on that filter were purposeful and discussed with stewards at the time. There was a discussion happening right here, and to which you haven't even contributed, and to which one steward made a statement that they would make fixes and happy with the currency. So please tell me how you see the difference between improving filters and making a political decision. — billinghurst sDrewth 21:18, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, this was a little too quick for my taste, especially since you just gained the right. Editing filters like that without contributing to the discussion is odd, to say the least. My suggestion was merely a technical one which clearly had not gathered enough consensus to warrant a change to the filter. Nihlus 00:33, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- The general convention is to leave anything steward related pages for stewards to decide, AFAIK since 2014. — regards, Revi 00:45, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- OK then. While I did this in good faith, I apologise for this mistake and will try to stay away from such pages in the future. Leaderboard (talk) 13:25, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

Confirmed status for ZéroBot

When I follow the link in I see the statement "Translation to Traditional Chinese is disabled: Translate in zh please." Best that we ping @Xaosflux: for they set the page to translate. — billinghurst sDrewth 21:13, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- @無聊龍 and Billinghurst: I only enabled default translation, it seems across meta zh-hans and zh-hant are disabled as deprecated in CommonSettings.php (see $wgTranslateBlacklist section) and phab:T124013. If you would like to un-deprecate these languages I suggest starting a discussion at Meta talk:Babylon. — xaosflux Talk 04:40, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

List french translations containing the “·” character
Hi,
I would like a list of french translations (pages ending with /fr) that countains this character: · ; but there is no requests for bots page (or I can't find it) and I don't have AWB's permissions on meta. Could you help me with it ? --CreativeC (talk) 22:40, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- @CreativeC: I'm not seeing any pages like that (quarry:query/33757) - do you expect there any at all? — xaosflux Talk 23:08, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- I made 1 to make sure the query worked. — xaosflux Talk 23:10, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- Instead of bot flags you should've asked for Flooder flag.--AldNonymousBicara? 01:13, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Aldnonymous: no edits were made here, why would anyone need a flood flag? — xaosflux Talk 02:14, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Ah, I thought he's going to make a high volume of edits.--AldNonymousBicara? 02:49, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- I don't need there will be so much edits to do --CreativeC (talk) 06:48, 26 February 2019 (UTC)

@Xaosflux: Thanks for the quarry but I was searching the character in the content of the page, not the title --CreativeC (talk) 06:39, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- @CreativeC: Here you go: User:PiRSquared17/Écriture inclusive. Note that the list includes all /fr content pages containing the middot character. Many of the uses are not related to écriture inclusive, but for other purposes like separating items in a list. It also excludes pages in the Translations namespace because there were too many to search, but you should be able to work backwards from the complete translation pages easily. Also, I agree with StevenJ81 that you should start a community discussion before changing them. PiRSquared17 (talk) 00:12, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
