This user’s name means “Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party” which is almost certainly not true as their userpage contains only “666”.
So, on any project where they have not made a local userpage, their global userpage here is copied, and it is implying that the government of China is run by Satanists. Seems like a problem. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:42, 4 May 2018 (UTC)

How to ping a group of people... Help!
I need to speak to this group of Wikiproject current active participants about the available scholarships to attend Wikimania. How do I ping or mass message them so that the message falls directly to their individual talk pages?
I don't quiet understand how this here works. Please help. Bobbyshabangu (talk) 06:12, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Bobbyshabangu: "ping" is part of notification and triggers a notification to people that have "mentions" enabled in their notification, using a mass-message will leave a note of their talk pages, on enwiki you can see: w:en:Wikipedia:Mass_message_senders for how to prepare the message, and w:en:Wikipedia_talk:Mass_message_senders to request the mailing be sent out. — xaosflux Talk 11:26, 4 May 2018 (UTC)

sup sup IP vandal
I've been seeing a IP user blank important pages for the last week or so, with the latest being MassMessage, always with the exact same edit summary. The IP also adds unneccesary sup tags right next to each other so that they are invisible.
Could someone do something about it? Sincerely, Cæs tc 04:25, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

I request for regrant of the mass message sender user right. I was assigned this right last year on temporary basis, with a expiration of one year. It expired on 2 May 2018. Patroller permissions
I'd find having rollback useful. I don't do too much anti-vandal work here, but I often request stewards lock global LTAs that have cross-wiki activity on en.wiki, and make talk page edits here. I've come across a few times (today included), where it would have been useful and someone got to it before me. TonyBallioni (talk) 23:51, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi. There is a really bad dispute going on Test2 Wikipedia for a small mistake and misunderstanding I had. Due to this, I completely lost on editing any Wiki. Can an admin please globally lock my account. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:59, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- I don't think that's an appropriate way to handle this situation. – Ajraddatz (talk) 19:03, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Ajraddatz: Thanks for your reply. What do you think is the best action to take for this dispute. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:22, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- Don't be "contributing" to a test wiki, for one. That site is designed to test the pre-deployment version of mediawiki by the devs, and other assorted (but legitimate) testing efforts. The little hierarchy you lot have established over there is unnecessary and will probably be removed in short order here. – Ajraddatz (talk) 19:24, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Ajraddatz: Thanks for your advice. However, what I did on that test wiki was testing. Also, what do you mean by the hierarchy being removed in the short order? I successfully test the import tool on that Wiki so that I was ready to use it in another Wiki and so that I don't mess up with using it when I actually use it. I am still in the mood for a global lock on my account. It just took my mood down for a slight misunderstanding and something that wasn't my fault. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:31, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- Pkbwcgs, meta admins cannot lock accounts, only stewards have that ability. Granted, Ajraddatz is both, but this isn't the place to ask. Also, given your request on enwiki, you must realize that a lock will prevent you from even logging in, right? —DoRD talk 19:43, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- @DoRD: Oh dear. In that case, I wouldn't want to be locked. The course of action is to be blocked on Wikipedia for a week and try to get this dispute sorted out. It has just got too stressful got me. Until my admin rights are back on Test2 Wikipedia and I can resume testing, I would not even consider coming back to editing Wikipedia. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:50, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- I have been blocked on English Wikipedia after a successful request. However, is there no chance for my sysop rights to be given back on Test2 Wikipedia? Pkbwcgs (talk) 20:03, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- We don't continue this discussion here as this is off-topic. Please resolve your issue on test2 Wikipedia. Stryn (talk) 20:05, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Stryn: However, this is quite serious and I don't think anybody will be available to handle this on Test2 Wikipedia. Pkbwcgs (talk) 20:08, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

- Global lock is unnecessary, but the promotional tags on their meta user page should definitely be removed; using any Wikimedia projects as a platform/medium to promote political opinions shouldn't be permitted even if it's not explicitly mentioned in WM:NOT. But ultimately it's up to the meta admins. Alex Shih (talk) 02:01, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
- Since the user has now resorted to creating sock puppet accounts, shouldn't a block be appropriate now? Alex Shih (talk) 03:11, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

I disagree with what has happened here. Please identify the local policy that has been broken; and this is not the Wikipedias, and we have blocked this person without even having a conversation with them. We have due process here, and what has been done here is a kangaroo court. There have been many Wikipedia user pages that have expressed political content, and the Wikipedias themselves have expressed political points of view, eg. SOPA. That you/we don't like a person's point of view is not pertinent. We administer to the rules of the community either through policy, or through gaining a consensus; not to our own position, not as autocrats. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:03, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
- I really have no opinion on their personal view point, and my actions may have been too swift. The actions were based on reports that User:Koppadasao along with User:KoppaFreeTommy were making disruptive use of multiple accounts by way of the global userpage feature here. I've restored the deleted user page on the prior account and tagged as noinclude while this discussion continues. — xaosflux Talk 11:36, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
- Have also unblocked the user to allow for immediate discussion and invited them to this topic. — xaosflux Talk 11:39, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
- Would appreciate input from others on any necessary next steps here. — xaosflux Talk 11:57, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunate. Please see this discsusion The pages transclude across the project, spreading their disruption and furthering their agenda to lend support to an off-wiki cause. Dlohcierekim (talk) 12:10, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
- If meta user pages did not transclude across all projects, it would be a merely local matter. They do and it is not. If meta rules do not prevent such misuse, promoting causes across multiple projects, then that is another discussion.Dlohcierekim (talk) 12:14, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

- As I have commented above, in terms of local policy in regards to the user page, I would say mainly en:WP:NOTSOAPBOX; this is not about disagreeing with a political point of view, billinghurst, but on whether or not it is entirely appropriate to use any Wikimedia project as a medium to explicitly calling for the release of a detained political individual, in this case en:Tommy Robinson (activist), through their global user page and blatant disruptive editing; for instance, see this edit ([1]). Now if having a global user page to be displayed across every one of their pages across Wikimedia projects for that very purpose is not a violation of any policies here at meta, fine, like I said above it's ultimately up to the meta admins but I would simply respectfully disagree. -revi's suggested alternative solution sounds fine to me. Alex Shih (talk) 21:00, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
- Simply creating a blank enwiki user page for the user also rectifies the issue. An alternative is creating an enwiki user page for the user minus the unacceptable content and optionally adding the notification template designed for this purpose. Edaham (talk) 03:46, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Alex Shih: We govern by the application of policy or of consensus, and in this situation neither existed. We do not hang people for having an opinion, and for breaking no rules. The person acted outside of the scope of English Wikipedia, and that wiki should activate its rules where that happens. The local wiki totally has the means to manage this at their wiki. Here, it is a reasonable approach to start with a conversation with the user if we believed that they had a user page outside of the accepted scope. At this point of time there is no global user page policy, and that is obviously a shortcoming, but that is the broader community's failing, not meta's, and the community is welcome to address that failing. Once there is a global user page policy, then meta admins would be bound to uphold it. At this point in time we manage an anti-harassment and anti-spam approaches which are prescribed either locally or by WMF. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:49, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Does those autopatroller users will come for vandalizing and spamming on Meta? Incnis Mrsi has questioned to me about the issue at here in few minutes past ago, I also don't think that those autopatroller users will come here for vandalizing and spamming. SA 13 Bro (talk) 09:18, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- What is your point? My point is: have autopatrol ⇒ do the job, not ask about every soapbox on noticeboards. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 10:33, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- I don't understand your question, care to reword it. meta:Autopatrollers sets no expectations of a task, it allows users to know whose edits do not need review. If you two are bickering please take it elsewhere. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:55, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Incnis Mrsi: Did you mean that the abuse filter were affected those autopatroller users to tag the deletion on the spam user page? I thought you are complaint about the trigger issue, so I just want to report the false positive issue. SA 13 Bro (talk) 13:38, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
