Hi all - I'd like to request limited adminship so that I may help administer the spam blacklist. I'm a current steward, and I believe I have shown my proficiency in dealing with regex (through the edit filters both here and locally on enwp) - being able to administer the SBL would enable me to respond fully to cross-wiki, extensive, link spamming. If possible, and with respect to the note that limited adminship is normally granted for one month, I would like to request this for for six months. - TNT❤ 15:19, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
Edit: Because I am a muppet and didn't check the MSR, I don't need limited adminship to edit the SBL. At the request of my honourable colleague Ajr, who I'm sure won't let me forget about this, I would like to instead request regular adminship - TNT❤ 16:41, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
no need; you can already edit the spam blacklist under the MSR.That said, Support for regular unlimited Meta adminship. Perhaps you would consider quickly shifting the request over? :-) – Ajraddatz (talk) 16:10, 22 June 2018 (UTC)- Perhaps all I need is a wallop with a trout for not checking that page!!! - TNT❤ 16:36, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick fix! Since this is now at it's proper place, I'll add that TNT is a competent steward and an experienced sysop and functionary elsewhere. While his engagement on the non-steward part of the project is more limited than I would usually like to see in an admin candidate, his wealth of experience with blacklist and abusefilter editing suggests that it's worth allowing him to access these features without needing to worry about the limitations of the MSR. – Ajraddatz (talk) 16:48, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

- Support That they have sufficient clue to remember the need to comply with local policy, despite having technical access to the buttons, tells me everything I need to know. (Even if they are a dufus sometimes, and don't read said local policy). TheDragonFire (talk) 19:00, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

- Considering you aren't requesting temp adminship anymore, could you please explain why do you need regular adminship? no reason has been given but you don't need temp adminship due to steward access. Matiia (talk) 21:35, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
- Good question Matiia - although the original reason I looked at Meta adminship is now moot, having regular admin access would be useful for the reasons mentioned above plus being able to assist in local matters here without the restrictions of the MSR. I'm all for cutting down bureaucracy, and if the local community here believes I would do okay, I'm happy to serve and more than willing to help out at WM:RFH - TNT❤ 22:04, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
- As a little bit of ad, if you happen to know some basic CSS/HTML/JS you are more than welcome to help with CN requests which are critically undermanned. Same goes for anyone reading this, this niche of Meta adminship should get more attention :P. --Base (talk) 14:34, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Base: As a matter of fact I do - I'd be happy to lend a hand where I can - TNT❤ 14:43, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
