Hi, I'm seeking adminship to deal with vandals, both locally (using blocks) and globally (via GAF). Despite having never edited abuse filters in production, I do know regex and can understand AF to a relatively good extend. I'm not (yet) a sysop on any content wiki, but do have experience with the tools. Trivia: I have a bunch of edits here and my 2FA on. Thanks for your consideration. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 01:34, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Question: You claim to have experience with the sysop tools, even though you're not an admin on any Wikimedia content wiki. Can you share more details about this? --Martin Urbanec (talk) 06:32, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- On viwiki,
eliminator
-ship allows deleting, protecting, moving files, whiletemplateeditor
allows changing content model and editing most protected templates. Eliminators are de facto admins and in general we do nearly all kinds of administrative work apart from blocking and editing abuse filters. However, being a tech-lover I have tried to learn those myself without actually using them by reading documentations on mediawikiwiki, metawiki and perform some testing on test wikis. - On viwiki,
- Question: You have a significant number of edits at viwiki (your homewiki?), but you're not an admin there. Why? --Martin Urbanec (talk) 06:32, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not one yet. Local policy mandates that all candidates need at least one year of experience, so I can request for adminship there no sooner than this April 12th. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 06:42, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. On your user page, I'm reading that you are using a script to automatically revert some edits identified as vandalism, also on small wikis, without manual supervision. You're even dismissing concerns about unnecessary edit-wars with vandals nonchalantly saying "just block the bad guy". I'm horrified to learn of this and cannot support your request. --MF-W 08:47, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- I only use that script to deal with vandals that edits on multiple pages. That being said, if I revert them more than three times on the same page, I will turn it off immediately. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 08:55, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. That sounds like an anti-vandal bot script, which would need approval on a few wikis that I know. And I really don't like how it works and am in complete agreement with MF-W up there. It's like doing revert-war with the vandals while completely ignoring the surrounding.--BRP ever 10:40, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose while I would like to extend thanks for recent work on some technical things such as Module:Votings, without being an admin on any content projects I'm not ready to support someone that I think will immediately start working on global things such as spring boarding to interface-admin and global abuse filters updates - which can have impact on content projects. Suggest you gain some experience in admining on a content project for a while, then come back. — xaosflux Talk 13:17, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- You know some RfAs passed without that – and even without permissions like eliminator, as opposed to this candidate. ~~~~

- Oppose per Xaosflux and MF-Warburg. Thanks for volunteering and all that you do, but I'm just not comfortable with full adminship (and everything that it enables, like global edit filters and IAdmin access) yet --DannyS712 (talk) 21:37, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose per above. Not an admin on a content wiki, concerns with experience. -FASTILY 22:56, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose per MF-Warburg. A bulldozer-style rollbacker was exactly what this candidate did on vi.wiki in his first 3 months there. He is a tech-lover than a content-lover. Leemyongpak (talk) 05:53, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- Don't quite understand this comment, since Meta is not a content project anyway. ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 22:06, 7 April 2022 (UTC)- Please check Xaosflux vote. You are an exception, another exception and more will break the common rule. We are not in rush here. Leemyongpak (talk) 00:53, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
