Pharos is requesting help with some banners for Wikipedia Day. We have some plans to work on it together in person but will also be helpful to work on requests when we're not sitting together. See also last round: Meta:Requests for CentralNotice adminship/Jeremyb.
I can't tell if there's a way for me to enable 2fa now or I have to wait to be added to a group first? (is that now a requirement for CN admin?)
Thanks --Jeremyb (talk) 02:54, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- It is a requirement, but it is enforced by WMF staff manually checking if you have it enabled rather than by technical means. So it should be okay if you get the rights and enabled 2FA right away after that. --Base (talk) 04:42, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Jeremyb, if you could link to some banners you helped with the last time? --Base (talk) 04:44, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- WikiConference USA 2016, Wiknic2016 and WLM before that. --Jeremyb (talk) 03:26, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- (and also there were some Pharos and I worked on together that may be logged on his account but I don't remember which. --Jeremyb (talk) 03:29, 28 December 2018 (UTC))
- I worked on Special:CentralNoticeBanners/edit/WikipediaDayUS2019 today and I could also help with CentralNotice/Request#WMCZ Describe a monument contest 2019. --Jeremyb (talk) 04:43, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- With regards to 2FA enabling, Jeremyb can enable 2FA already by visiting mw:Special:OATH. Please be sure to read before H:2FA and w:WP:S2FA. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 10:47, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- done on mediawikiwiki:. --Jeremyb (talk) 03:26, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Jeremyb: will you be able to help continuously, or do you only want this for the event (i.e. expiring in a month?). — xaosflux Talk 17:38, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Yes please let me know if there's a time with extra banner work to do and also I'll try to watch the request page. I could take a turn being listed on the request page header. --Jeremyb (talk) 03:26, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Base and MarcoAurelio: I'd like to give my strong endorsement for Jeremyb, he's been a great help to me and others.--Pharos (talk) 04:51, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

- Sorry for the late reply. I'd like to see if possible some sort of explicit supporting votes so it doesn't look like I am promoting him without approval. I guess I can count Pharos' comment as a support though. Jeremyb I also understand that with regards to Xaosflux's question above you prefer an indefinite CN adminship because you intend to work continuously in CNR? Thanks. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 16:03, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- yes indefinite please. Thanks --Jeremyb (talk) 16:04, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support given the endorsement of existing CN's above and the need for CN's to help with backlogs this seems to be a net positive. User:Seddon (WMF) is highly active in this area, so any feedback from him may also be helpful. — xaosflux Talk 16:10, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
