Hi samosatwikipedia. Thank you for this request and your work to document Samos. Since this account seems to have been created recently, it would be great to have the list of participant's usernames so we can have a better understanding of their level of experience on the Wikimedia projects. Hey Alex Wang (WMF), thanks for having a look! This is indeed a recent initiative and we're just getting started with contributing to Wikimedia. My name is Giannis Konstantinidis; I have been part of the Fedora Project and Mozilla for around eight years. I'm also acting as a mobilizer for fossaegean, my university's open-source community. Samos@Wikipedia is an initiative we currently focus onto and I'm helping fellow students find their way into Wikimedia. Currently, these four students do not have their own accounts - we are going to fix that in our next project meet-up this weekend. We have already held a Wikipedia event at our university's library and we also did an excursion last weekend at Mt. Kerkis/Seitania in order to capture photos for WLE - I am soon going to publish photos and a blog post featuring those activities. This Monday, we are also planning to visit the Tunnel of Eupalinos to capture photos. That would be most of the information I can provide right now, my project members and I will surely follow-up in terms of reporting our activities. Hi Samosatwikipedia. Thank you for this additional information. We're excited to see how Samos@Wikipedia develops at your university and are happy to fund this request. There are some good photography tips for Commons on this page! Cheers, Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 20:54, 1 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Grant marked withdrawn

[edit]

Hi samosatwikipedia. After our last communication in October, I have marked this proposal 'Withdrawn' to reflect that due to lack of time to process grant funds, none were disbursed for this grant. You are welcome to reopen this proposal and request the final reimbursable amount at any time, so we hope you will be in touch with us in the future by contacting us at rapidgrants@. Thank you for your work for the movement, and we look forward to supporting you at a better time.

All the best, Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 01:03, 6 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
