What is the next step after IEG committee feedback?
[edit]Hi! I think a common doubt most IEG applicants have is what should we now do after obtaining feedback and rubric-based scoring by the committee. Should we update the proposal based on the feedback or address the points in the discussion page? Do let us know how to proceed. Thanks Vincentvikram (talk) 13:07, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Vincentvikram! Yes, this has caused some confusion in next steps for the proposal review process. I've forwarded similar comments to Marti about this for her guidance on how to proceed before the committee announces their decision, so please stay tuned! Thanks for your diligence. -- MJue (WMF) (talk) 21:49, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hi @MJue (WMF):! Any progress? Today is already 13th June :) Vincentvikram (talk) 15:44, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Vincentvikram--apologies for the delay in reply! The talk page for your proposal would be the ideal place for you to respond to committee feedback at this point. For any further questions or guidance, feel free to contact Marti as she will know best how to move forward! Cheers, MJue (WMF) (talk) 17:18, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Hi MJue (WMF)! Thanks for delivering the committee's results! I have responded to the committee's comments to my proposal at Grants talk:IEG/Curation of courses and resources on Wikiversity. Usually, they state whether the proposal has been accepted for funding or not. Regardless, the proposer is encouraged to improve the proposal and resubmit once the committee's comments have been addressed. Unfortunately, the process is not like submitting a manuscript for publication, where the author is free to respond and if those responses themselves adequately address the referee's or review committee's concerns to the editor's satisfaction the manuscript is published. The committee is free to respond in turn to my responses on the talk page mentioned. Cheers! --Marshallsumter (talk) 07:24, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
Technical help
[edit]Hi Morgan. I hope you are well and fine. It is time for us (GLAM Macedonia) to do the midpoint report. However, I found an obstacle from technical point of view (the first time in my Wiki career and I am blushing :D ). When I edit the section 'Midpoint report' I am opening a general template and since I do not want to do some mistakes, can you tell me how to put the text in the report? In meantime I wrote the midpoint in Word :D Thanks a lot and I appreciate your help and time. (Nikolche)--MacedonianBoy (talk) 08:16, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hello @MacedonianBoy:! Your confusion is not unique, as many grantees experience the same issue! :) The template for the Progress report section will not allow you to 'Edit Source' next to each section, so you will have to edit the whole page (clicking "Edit" at the top of the proposal page) in order to add the content for the progress report instead. Let me know if that doesn't make sense! Best, Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 01:13, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. Thanks a lot. I've put the text, you can check whether it is appropriately added. Thanks again. Kind regards, --MacedonianBoy (talk) 15:36, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

Report
[edit]Hi, in the terrible situation of last year I have realized I have never submitted a grant report for the "Sapere Aude" project Grants:IdeaLab/"Sapere aude!", I plan to do it soon. I have to give you back some money. Can you please send me again some detailed information. All the data are in talk page actually, I just have to write them down in a precise form.
I am sorry, I am very accurate in these reports, it's just that I keep receiving thing to do and only now I can finalize it beacause it's holiday. To be honest I am surprised, as I said in some intenrational events, that nobody contacted me. I was in the emergency mode for some months and I was expecting to receive a warning and do it at that time but nobody mailed me.
The grant was actually more successful for the community than it looks like, it led us to create a whole new user group WikiClassics User Group. The problem is that to create that one, I had no time to look carefully at the grant procedure.
Actually my idea is to ask for a minigrant for small kick start activities for the UG and spend the rest of the money that way so we don't have to transfer them back, but if I am not a reliable finantial sponsor someone else can do it, I work in group, that's not a big deal. We finally have a more itnernationally oriented idea to spend them, but that's another story. Let's finalize this situation.
Again I am sorry for this confused situation, but the most important thing was the creation of the UG, reimborusing money could have happened later, but the UG needed to be created at that moment.
Let me know and sorry again.--Alexmar983 (talk) 16:22, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
BTW, the only thing I consider positive is that I can show you how those small money spent put in motion a lot of activities whose results you can see know. Last year you wouldn't have seen the whole picture yet.--Alexmar983 (talk) 16:30, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Alexmar983! Thanks for writing and for your question. You can return funds by following the instructions on this page. Since our records show that the report for your grant project was due 14 June 2018, could you request a new submission date for the report and documentation of expenses, so that we know when to expect them? Please be sure to send your request and your receipts to rapidgrantswikimedia.org for a more timely reply, in case I cannot access my inbox. I hope this answers your question, but contact me over email if you have any further updates or queries! Best, Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 08:09, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
