Thank you for all your work on this grant. It's great to see that Wiki Loves Earth was successfully organized for the first time in Kosovo, with such great photographs and more participants than you expected! We understand WLE can be more challenging than WLM in terms of access to notable areas and also getting the official lists. It sounds like you learned some important lessons in terms of how to organize the contest in the future. We are very impressed with the amount of outreach you did and the subsequent media coverage -- congrats! I personally loved seeing the photos, especially of Jazhincë Lake, Rugova Canyo, and the many interesting caves! Thanks again for all you work and contributions to the movement. Proposal for use of remaining funds[edit]

Hi @AWang (WMF):

Fom our WLE grant, an amount of 283.72 EUR remained and we were asked to propose by 30 November a way to spend or refund them.

We would like for the amount to be used towards two weekend editathons in the upper middle schools in the cities of Gjilan and Gjakova, Kosovo, on 21-22 January and 28-29 January respectively.

Plan of realization:

On the Tuesdays before the weekends, we will hold technical trainings for the participants. On the weekends, at least 50 students in each school will write environmental and other articles in sq.wikipedia to go with WLE sourced photos.

Expected outcome:

  • At least 80 articles written.
  • New Wikipedians among students and teachers created
  • Evaluate a larger idea to engage students school-wide in these two schools to write articles under the supervision of their teachers which should be able to run without our involvement thereafter.

Budget:

  • Travel for organizers: 6 trips x 15 EUR = 90 EUR
  • Food & drinks: 4 weekend days x 40 EUR = 160 EUR
  • Internet provision for a month = 2 schools x 50 EUR = 100 EUR

Total expenses = 350 EUR

  • WMF funds 283.72 EUR
  • Remainder will be funded by FLOSSK.

Thank you! --Arianit (talk) 17:06, 4 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
