Description - Wiki Loves Folklore, an annual international photography contest hosted on Wikimedia Commons from February 1st to March 31st, serves as a global initiative to amass a diverse collection of media. The primary objective is to contribute content to Wikipedia and other online platforms, all under free licenses. The contest focuses on capturing and showcasing unique images that represent and document the intangible cultural heritage of various communities worldwide.

Structured with both national coordinators and an International Team, the campaign ensures comprehensive coverage. National coordinators, responsible for organizing Wiki Loves Folklore within their respective countries, play a vital role in fostering local participation. Simultaneously, the International Team steps in to organize the contest in countries lacking designated national coordinators, thereby addressing the representation gap within the Wikimedia ecosystem.

@Kaim Amin Please note that last year, the Bengali Wikipedia community reached a consensus against displaying this Folklore banner on bnwiki.

@খাত্তাব হাসান, kindly explain to us why is "Folklore" banner not allowed to display on Bengali wikipedia projects?. @Tiven2240 There is no problem with displaying the banner for the Feminism and Folklore 2025 article writing contest. However, there is currently no community consensus to show the WLFB contest banner (this specific banner). @খাত্তাব হাসান WLFBD is a Wikimedia commons project related to photography. The users via this banner are landed on Wikimedia Commons and not Bangla Wikipedia. This Banner clearly mentions that it will run in Bangladesh and not only on Bangla Wikipedia. That means any user irrespective of any Wiki Language edition accessing Wiki projects in Bangladesh user can see this Banner and go to Commons to upload. Please note that this was last year's decision about the folklore commons photo contest banner organized by two banned wikimedians. There is no consensus to show the folklore commons photo contest banner on Bangla Wikipedia. (However, note also there is no restriction on organising and giving banner for feminism and folklore wikipedia article writing competition on Bangla wikipedia.) @খাত্তাব হাসান I don't know if you read my previous messages well. It clearly seems that there is a false claim in the name of community consensus here. There is no indication on the pages that the event WLFBD or FNFBD is banned on Bangla wiki. Both the events are running successfully and that gives us motivation to run the banner in Bangladesh region irrespective of any Wiki Project like commons/wiki/etc. My sincere request is to keep local disputes on local level. @Kaim Amin There is no community consensus to display this banner on bnwiki. I am just passing along this message. If you believe my claim is incorrect, feel free to verify by asking at bn:উইকিপিডিয়া:আলোচনাসভা (Village pump) or bn:উইকিপিডিয়া:প্রশাসকদের আলোচনাসভা (admin noticeboard).

@Nokib Sarkar I don’t see the point... how is this a "clarification" when the organizers are the same as last year and their ban has not been lifted?
