Sponsorship
[edit]I have been advised that asking for sponsorship too early could be risky. It's a payoff between getting it in time for the jury to know we've got it sorted and for companies to be sure it's happening before they put their money etc. I think it's a good idea if we consider what we would like sponsorship for - specifics - and ask for it, maybe prepare a PDF or something. - One common standard approach is to present companies with a set of sponsorship options, ranging from the effectively individual level to those that say an investment bank can afford and making them the main sponsor of the event. The options would include the specifics of what you're asking for, and what they get in return, e.g. X number of VIPs attendees to the conference, their name on this that and whatnot.
