Cordialement, — Racconish Tk 09:21, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
Deletion
[edit]Are you sure you want this translation to be deleted? IMHO, it looks fine, but I'll delete it if you're sure. PiRSquared17 (talk) 20:07, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
- Same with this one. I see there are minor errors, but do you really want it to be deleted? PiRSquared17 (talk) 20:09, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
- I am very sorry for the mess I created while trying to translate the page : I do not understand how the translation tool works. My translation on this page, copied by another user from the French wiki, is correct. Some segments have been erased by mistake. If I post a complete translation on a subpage of mine, could you please copy it to the translated page ? Thanks, — Racconish Tk 21:34, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I can do that. Does mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Translation_example/fr help ? PiRSquared17 (talk) 22:59, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. Will check it later. The completed translation is here. Cheers, — Racconish Tk 07:17, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- Done. Please check the copy on the Foundation wiki. PiRSquared17 (talk) 16:15, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- Great ! Thanks, — Racconish Tk 16:20, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Wikichecker
[edit]On the Rfc page I had added Wikichecker info added at the top and you have removed it. I feel that the participating users need to be aware that there is a similar tool that does not require any opt-in. Since I am not an administrator, I probably do not have any other way to do it. Would be glad if you help. DiptanshuTalk 17:39, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- Please note I have not removed your comment but moved it to a more appropriate section. This RFC is about the adequation of the opt-in to the privacy policy, not the availability of tools outside from the project. Cheers, — Racconish Tk 09:42, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

JSTOR account redistribution (The Wikipedia Library)
[edit]Hi - according to our records you received a free account for JSTOR through The Wikipedia Library. Because we’ve used up all of our allocated accounts, and it’s been some time since they were distributed, we want to redistribute any accounts that aren’t being used to users on our waitlist.
If you’re still using, or plan to use, your JSTOR access, no problem! Simply head over to the Library Card platform, log in, and request a renewal of your account. You should be able to do this from your user page, or the JSTOR signup page. If you can’t find the renewal button, or have any other issues or questions about this, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. We’ll begin redistributing inactive accounts in September; if you request renewal after then we will only be able to reactivate your account if we have spots remaining. Thanks, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:32, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

[edit]i object to your out of process deletion of a two year old file. license review is for recent files. if you have questions about licenses, then you need to follow a consensus process. by your abuse of speedy deletion, you prove you are a fitting successor to the abusive "license missing" deletions. Call For Volunteer Facilitators Across Africa
[edit]Dear Wikimedian,
The Africa Narrative is seeking volunteer facilitators in Egypt (two volunteers) and Senegal (two volunteers) for the AfroCreatives Wikiproject.
The AfroCreatives Wikiproject aims to support and mobilize creatives and professionals from the African creative sector, as well as enthusiasts more broadly, to contribute and enhance knowledge on Wikipedia about Africa’s creative economy. Its inaugural effort will target the film sectors of Egypt, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Senegal.
The Africa Narrative (TAN) is a non-profit that develops singular, high-impact initiatives in support of African creatives and the African cultural and creative industries with the aim to strengthen capacity in the continent’s creative economy and the global visibility of African cultural soft power.
All volunteers must have full professional proficiency in English. In Senegal, they must have native or full professional proficiency in French; in Egypt, they must have native or full professional proficiency in Arabic. Volunteer facilitators should have a vast knowledge about Wikimedia projects and experience with teaching new editors. All volunteers will be compensated.
Interested participants may sign up on the project's Meta page. You may also indicate your country and email if your Wikipedia account is not associated with any email address.
The Africa Narrative/Volunteers
We will be glad if you can share with or recommend an Egyptian or Senegalese Wikipedian as well.
Thank you.

Newspapers.com access is being restored
[edit]You are receiving this message because our records indicate that you used Newspapers.com via The Wikipedia Library in the past year. Newspapers.com has been affected by a number of technical issues over that time period, which most recently caused it not to work at all. If you aren't already familiar, further details can be found at T322916.
We're pleased to share that we have found a solution which will restore access to Newspapers.com's content! Newspapers.com have agreed to move back to our old method of granting access, whereby users must first register at Newspapers.com, then apply via The Wikipedia Library, and then accounts are upgraded to a subscribing one by Newspapers.com. We have updated Newspapers.com to accept applications in the library, so you can apply now!
This change is unfortunately mutually exclusive with the limited proxy-based access working, so any of the technical workarounds that have been discussed should no longer work, along with any proxy-based access to Newspapers.com. I hope you agree that this brief bump will be worth it in the long run.
As a reminder, this change means that you will need to renew your access on a yearly basis. If you have an email configured in The Wikipedia Library you should receive an email a few weeks before this expiry to remind you to submit an extension request, but brief yearly loss of access may be a side effect of this access method. The good news is that this access method means that you shouldn't encounter any technical problems besides normal operational problems on Newspapers.com's end, which should be few and resolved quickly - otherwise the website should work just as if you were a normal customer.
If you have any questions please ask them at this Meta announcement. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:40, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
