Username

Hi Kadı. I noticed that you recently renamed a user to en:User:千乇丨丂ㄒㄚ尺ㄖㄖ丂ㄒ乇尺. This seems problematic as it's completely untypeable for almost everyone, doesn’t translate meaningfully, and could confuse Chinese and Japanese readers due to the mix of CJK and Bopomofo characters. Could you clarify the rationale for going through with this awful rename? Or better, can this please be undone? Thank you. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 03:53, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

I have informed them. I don't know the ins and outs of the global renaming policy, but I think we can give them an opportunity to request a different username. However, if they don't make a new request or if their desired username also violates the policy, it seems like it would be best to restore the previous username.
