Problem with Korean Hanja Wikipeida
[edit]Hello. Thank you for support Korean Hanja Wikipeida. But we have problem with this Wikipedia. I tried to persuade language subcommittees since June 2007, but they are very negative about this Wikipedia. Even thought they avoid to discuss about this issue. "There you said "Copyleft 2005 Yann Le Guennec, work derived from the Poietic Aggregator Copyleft 1986-2005 OlivierAuber". Did you or Yann Le Guennec make it?" <-- I would read it as that the picture was created by Yann Le Guennec; the tool "Poietic Aggregator" (see Collaborative_images) was created by OlivierAuber. Sysop rights
[edit]Hello Jusjih,
Per this successful request, you are now a sysop. Congrats! Please be familiar with our rules and policies before you use your tools, and please add yourself to the sysop box. Thanks, and good luck! Majorly (talk) 00:46, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Jawikisource
[edit]Hi Jusjih, just for your information user:Kzhr(ja:s:user:Kzhr) speaks also good English and more active than Tietew. --Aphaia 03:46, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your information. I manually broke up Chinese and Japanese pages on Wikisource to prepare subdomains, but with a few errors. Unfortunately Japanese Wikisource has very limited activities and Kzhr's userpage there has neither language skill nor inter-project links provided, so I could not tell if s/he would understand my English. After returning a few pages to Jawikisource that were missent to Chinese Wikisource, GFDL will be better complied and I do not expect any further need to intervene there as a steward. --Jusjih 04:28, 15 January 2008 (UTC) (admin on Multilingual, English, and Chinese Wikisources who could administer Wikisource pages in all languages until subdomains would break away)
Thanks for the permprot, I didn't even know that existed. -- Zanimum 14:13, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Please note
[edit]Steward rights are not to give to yourself to review images for Commons work. They're supposed to be to set permissions on other users, or yourself to block vandals or checkuser editors where there is no one to do it locally. Please reconsider your steward actions from now on: I don't any actual responses to other users in your logs, which is what stewards should be doing. It is not a "super sysop" tool. Thanks. Majorly (talk) 01:55, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- What exactly does "Temporary image review to facilitate my Commons administration" mean Jusjih? What is it you are giving yourself adminship with that comment to do? Is it deleted revisions which you're wanting to look at? Adambro 06:42, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Exactly.--Jusjih 14:48, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Please do no place any template on www.wiki*.org template page. It is a html page whose content on http://www.wiki*.org directly. We don't want such on our portal page? --Aphaia 04:38, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Do you mean that even categories cannot be added? Please do not mark this kind of talk as minor next time as it would be misleading.--Jusjih 02:10, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, there is NO way to categorize that stuff.84.56.31.242 18:59, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Protection
[edit]Hello. I noticed that you protected Coconut Monkey on Jan 18th, for a period of two months, due to "repeated IP vandalism". Perhaps there are deleted revisions I don't see, but as far as I see in the history of the page, only two IP vandalisms had happened, and to me that doesn't look like a necessity for a two week block. Am I missing something here, Jusjih?
By the way, as the protection was due, I removed the template.
Best regards, Huji 18:04, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Re: Portuguese Wikisource and Wikilivres
[edit](I like to insert links in my messages because it helps to easily browse between some conversations; just ignore my links if it bothers you :) )
Hi, yes, I'm the owner of wikilivres:User:555 account (and the owner of this too). I've already mentioned the existence of Wikilivres months ago, when we at pt.wikisource are trying to simple ignore that issue. The discussion page spammed in MediaWiki:Sitenotice since January 2008 also briefly mentions Wikilivres and my (incomplete) listing of incompatible pages has named as s:Usuário:555/lista de schindler (a joke with Schindler's List, the need of mass deletion and the possibility to move that works to another place). But... since pt.wikisource have a smallest community (sometimes is possible to get the Recentchanges for the last 4 days simple going to s:pt:Special:Recentchanges) and all afected pages are already digitalized and avaiable free of charge in websites from Brazil and Portugal, I've resolved to simple delete those works (after more than six months from the original announcement) using a community-aproved tool for mass deletions and to start to work in ways to full review the remainders pages against copyright issues and to in a near future start to try to implement the FlaggedRevs tool.
Trying to reduce my own impression of acting like a dictator in a empty kingdom, I'm privately (using IRC and MSN) talking about that issues more closely with some ptwikipedians. Well, I think that as priority I need first to atract more users to work in ptwikisource instead of pointing out to anothers projects created to help with Wikisource copyright issues . Because it, I'm only mentioning wikilivres: when someone asks me to alternatives to make those affected works avaiable in a wiki site. Best regards, 555 02:30, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Jusjih, please could You review this users contributions: q:zh:Special:Contributions/219.57.12.41, it does look like Japanese and he added the same stuff everywhere, and this user vandalized some other projects, maybe the things he added are not good on zh.quote either. [edit]Hello Jusjih, I am happy you became a steward! You are welcome. Sorry for replying so late, but some people have created a very bad environment at my wikipedia (lmo.wikipedia.org), mainly by adminship abuses. However, since this message is not about the latter subject, I will not annoy with this matter. Bye, --Belinzona 09:26, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. For adminship abuses on your wiki, try if the problems can be dealt locally. If emergency actions are needed, a steward may be able to step in.--Jusjih 02:00, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Your probable mistake
[edit]I seems you made some mistakes. You've granted bot status to User:タチコマ robot@zh_classicalwiki, but I can't find a request from User:タチコマ robot@zh_classicalwiki in Steward requests/Bot status. And you also marked Albambot@htwiki has been flagged. but according to bot status log, sul:Albambot, it's not flagged! Would you kind to check this? Thanks.--Kwj2772 00:17, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- For zh-classical:User:タチコマ robot, I do not admit any mistake as the user was renamed in the middle of the local request and 計算機@zh-classicalwikipedia could longer be made a bot. The radical problem is that when I try to edit a section of a page, I sometimes encounter problems when misled to a different and wrong section even if I clicked the correct one. Blame this to faulty program instead, which is not my mistake.--Jusjih 01:36, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Gubot and Spundun on gu.wiki
[edit]Hi Jusjih, Just to let you know that Spundun is no more active, you can check his log in log and contribution, you'll realise since when he is dormant.--DhavalTalk 16:49, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message. Is there an emergency? Bureaucrat/Removal for inactivity on small wiki would de-flag the inactive user faster, but no one has shown supports, so I have locally proposed de-flagging.--Jusjih 17:09, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- Many thanks for your initiative, I have left my message in support of your request locally. The only emergency in getting bot flag is, I am committing a huge 'replace' and because of that, recent history becomes almost next to impossible to track, as there would be thousand of pages where this one spelling is being replaced, you could check the replacements done eysterday by my bot here, that is probably half of the estimated amount. Alongwith that, can I ask you what would be the procedure for getting Bureaucrat rights? as there is no other Admin even active, can I request to be local Bureaucrat?--DhavalTalk 08:49, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- You may try to locally request the bureaucrat flag then report the community consensus here on Meta, but we stewards may still deny the local request if we consider the wiki too small to have its own bureaucrat. Having only 37 active users may not be big enough. While your wiki allows automatic approval of certain types of bots, spelling correction is not covered. I have also email the inactive bureaucrat about proposed removal as we stewards cannot speedily remove the flags just because of long inactivity. That username also has some activity on English Wikipedia, so I prefer to wait for a few days as certain other users do not consider spelling correction an emergency. Thanks.--Jusjih 13:28, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Not at all a problem, and as you said if such small wiki is not going to be considered for bureaucrat, then why to bother to get local consensus? but in that case, when Spundun would have been granted bureaucrat status, wiki must have been much much much smaller than now, was the scenario different then?--DhavalTalk 07:36, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- I am not waiting for local consensus, but we stewards normally wait for one week if local bureaucrats do not respond. This is why my drafted Bureaucrat/Removal for inactivity on small wiki should become a global policy. Please be patient as excessive bureaucracy and inefficiency are to be blamed.--Jusjih 01:02, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Image questions
[edit]You asked about some images with old history.
- File:Paullusmagnus-logo jd mozaic.png (I presumed it GFDL, but your clear answer is appreciated.)
- Best to leave it presumed GFDL. It's a derivative work of the winner of our logo contest, . I'm happy to release my own changes as GFDL even if they weren't originally but I can't attest to the copyright status of the original logo image. Note that this is not as simple as it may seem. These were to be logos used by the project and there was some discussion at the time that the entries should not be released under the GFDL so that they would have enhanced protection when used as a logo. If you really wanted to get into that discussion it would probably involve creating an exception for any current policy covering such images so that we can preserve the history of our logo, which is also a derivative work of the winning image. First step on that route would be determining the copyright status of the contest entries. There's also potential uncertainty about the copyright status of the glyphs (letters) used in the globe both here and in the current logo and that might cause it to become necessary to change our current logos that include those glyphs. Jamesday 05:14, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- File:Wiki development test image.png
- Just delete this. For old discussions between developers and system admins when they were the same thing; not of interest and not worth sorting out the copyright status of the incuded works. I'd delete it myself but it's been a few years since I've been an admin here on meta. Jamesday 05:14, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- File:Title length summary.xls
- As the creator I assert that this is inelinible for copyright protection because it lacks sufficient original cretivity to be eligible for copyright protection. I'll add some backup licenses including GFDL to cover any jurisdictions where the threshold of creativity is low enough for that not to apply. This was part of a discussion between developers/sysadmins about required lengths for article titles for various purposes including indexing in the database and is of some historic interest and worth keeping around.
