Global filter 171
Hello. Can you check if this is a false positive or not on french wikipédia? The filtered words are on line 89. I don't speak Arabic and I'm not familiar with the purpose of this filter but it could be a false positive regarding the population census of "Communes rurales Oulad Ali Mansour"? Regards. Supertoff (talk) 18:46, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Supertoff, it's a false positive. Regarding the line 89, please see Wikipédia:Faux-nez/Ali mansour and case2#Ali_Mansour. Best --Alaa :)..! 20:04, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. I just understand what means "Chronic LTAs x4" => Chronic Long Term Abuse (I was thinking "Chronic LTAsx4" was a user, what an idiot! lol) Supertoff (talk) 05:37, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
Help needed
Good day. Can you take some time to go through the contributions of ar:b:User:Artist Mohsen Attya? Seems spammy. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 04:01, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Minorax, thanks for mentioning this user, he's been promoting himself for a long time! All articles deleted, edits reverted, blocked locally (arwikibooks and arwiki) and locked globally. Also added to global abuse filter. Best --Alaa :)..! 18:04, 25 November 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that global renamers stats haven't been updated since 8 September 2023 so I have written new code to update them. I can run my bot if Steinsplitter doesn't plan to restart theirs. Code published at User:DreamRimmer/globalrenamerstats.py. – DreamRimmer (talk) 14:40, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hello DreamRimmer, I'm grateful for your interest in updating Global renamers/Stats. I had previously sent to Steinsplitter about this point on 1 November 2024 (about a month and a half ago), but I didn't get any answer, seems to be busy with other things. Anyway, I have mentioned Steinsplitter here, and I think you can -thank you- run the bot to update the page as soon as possible, so we can benefit from it again because of its importance. Will the bot update match the current page layout? --Alaa :)..! 19:02, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- The old bot was sorting the list by the number of renames, but I am sorting it by timestamp. I am only updating the current renamers (including stewards and bots with one or more rename logs), while the old bot was updating all-time renamers. The list layout remains the same as the old one. Please check out User:DreamRimmer/Global renamer stats. Do I need to file a new bot request to run this and for a bot flag? – DreamRimmer (talk) 01:55, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- DreamRimmer, thanks for the clarification. I think the User:DreamRimmer/Global renamer stats is fine. SteinsplitterBot was updating the page twice a day, but I don't see the need for that, once a day is enough. What you think?
- Usually, for low-edit task, especially edits here to update specific statistics, a bot flag is not required, unless we don't want the edit to appear in the recent changes, for example. I would like to hear Xaosflux's opinion. --Alaa :)..! 16:53, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Steinsplitter: any desire to get your bot running on this again? @DreamRimmer if you want to run hourly, this should be bot flagged to not annoy people. — xaosflux Talk 20:02, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: this is just for tracking rename counts and the last activity of renamers, so running it once or twice a day would be fine. – DreamRimmer (talk) 02:48, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
