The WikiArabia 2024 conference, held in Muscat, Oman, prominently featured Omani youth, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and innovation. While there were no specific edit-a-thons reported during the 2024 conference, plans are underway to expand the project with an edit-a-thon in 2025.
The Wiki Collection Competition by Wikimedia UAE documents cultural artifacts like banknotes and stamps. Running from Oct 2024 – Oct 2025, teams contribute to Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Commons, with a $6,000 prize for the winner.
Wiki Loves Ramadan is an annual contest encouraging contributions to Wikimedia projects about Ramadan traditions and Islamic culture. The 2025 edition (Feb 25 – Apr 15) covers 32 countries in 26+ languages.
