[1] is currently in the summary of this page, but that's a private wiki. Perhaps the text could be made more freely available here on Meta? Mike Peel 22:43, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

It is only a list of subjects to be mentioned in reports, useful only for chapter members. --Nemo 11:47, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Why is so much of the chapter stuff apparently happening behind closed doors? Mike Peel 21:13, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi Mike, that was mainly to help the chapters, a list of suggestions :) Nothing to worry about. But I think that the whole concept of this reports is to open up to the community what chapters are doing. So I think your claim is actually at a weird place... Reports from Wikimedia Germany

[edit]

Any idea why our reports (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_chapters/Reports/Wikimedia_Deutschland) dont show up on this page? I just dont find the reason... Any help is much appreciatedf!--Pavel Richter (WMDE) 08:44, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi! They did show up but without a heading so they got mixed in with the Czech reports. I fixed it. --Dami 10:52, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

New attempt at Overview table?

[edit]

FYI, picking up on the theme of the Overview section of this page, i just revised the Meta Reports page to start with a table showing the most recent few reports from each of the difference chapters, the foundation, and other parts of the movement.Stu 01:35, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mark page as historical?

[edit]

Should we phase out this page? It is somewhat duplicative of the more comprehensive and more up-to-date Reports page. I don't think duplication helps but want to be sensitive if this page plays an important different role....Stu 06:29, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Stu, I actually still find this page myself more useful, because it gives a full overview of all reports submitted by chapters - the reports page is still quite somewhat foundation focused when it comes to archiving (at the bottom there's a full archive of all WMF reports, and for the archives of chapter reports there's a link to this page) so for the full archive I think a page like this is still useful. Also this page should explain ideally better what a chapters report should look like, how to format it etc. Some information is there twice, but the page is not a duplicate. Howdy. Yes that makes sense. this does have more detail. you're right that Reports is more Foundation focused which doesn't really make sense. i'll move things around and put the Foundation info back at Foundation reports so the approach matches the Chapters reports and Reports become a summary and pointer.Stu 17:02, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the improvements, I think the current structure makes sense :) (although maybe we should think about a way of separating the social stuff, which is rather continuous than reports, from the rest to make things clearer. Logo's would be nice to have here, but I guess that is a nogo ;) ) Effeietsanders 21:16, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Revamp this page a little bit ?

[edit]

The reporting system is not working very fabulously and I think there might be a confusion between the Wikimedia chapters/Reports and the Reports pages.

One thing that might improve readability would be to make sure that the timeline is going in the same direction for all chapters and that sections are added for years
For example, France has such sections and new is at the top: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_chapters/Reports#Wikimedia_France
Sweden has no such sections and new is that the bottom: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_chapters/Reports#Wikimedia_Sverige

Might be cool to add year sections to all reports and to make sure all years are there since the creation of the chapter.

On another note, is not Chapters Reports Jan~March 2011 and Chapters Reports April~June 2011 a bit redundant with other pages ? Anthere (talk) 10:23, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

In noticing that we have not been translating our monthly report for over one year now, I tried to remember what motivated us to do this effort and I answered myself that it was to communicate with other chapters, when the chapters-reports list was created. When Lodewijk proposed to merge that list in WikimediaAnnounce, he probably expected the new list to continue the same tradition. Nowadays the announce list seems rather dead to me: the biggest announcements are sent to wikimedia-l only and the "antispam" moderation is so strong that most people fail to send relevant updates (or don't even bother). Should we perhaps restore a dedicated/functioning channel? Nemo 22:01, 12 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
