GLAM support

Following the highly successful developments of the GLAM collaboration between various wikimedia platforms and the Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museum sector, I would be interested to know what GLAM organisations have committed themselves to your bid? Harrypotter 21:22, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Tax deductible

Will donating organizations - whether providing services, an event location, etc. - be eligible for a tax-deduction? Please provide the details if possible. That will be a necessity for asking space donations for the event. Missvain 16:06, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Conference space

Emphasize Outreach - including in Bid

I just want to encourage whatever kind of events, seminars, etc. that would be about increasing outreach, especially to women and retired/seniors (many of whom are women with more free time). AARP and other Seniors groups are here in DC and more women's groups than just the Women's Museum. I'm sure a big outreach event to other under-represented groups as well (including African-Americans who are half of DC) would be impressive overall.

Besides being good in itself, it would impress the Foundation decision makers who are interested in such efforts per Outreach village pump and Outreach Target Audiences and ending Gender gap discussions. Carolmooredc 17:00, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

100% agree that this is a great idea. I'm also very very interested in outreach to African Americans and other groups in DC (e.g. Ethiopian population here). On our chapter's project ideas page, I propose we do a series of workshops or "classes" at the public library in DC as a way to do outreach. Please look over what I proposed, improve it, add new ideas, etc. and once we get enough people interested in a particular idea, then think we should do it. Aude 18:42, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Conference Center

700 paid registrants

Do the 700 paid registrants include the sponsors? (don't they automatically get x number of registrations) the VIP registrants? scholarship recipients? student volunteers? How many paid registrants vs. attendees? Aude 04:48, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Well, according to the budget you have 700 people doing regular registration at $60 and then you have the sponsors/VIPs who can get anywhere between 1 and 4 VIP tickets, which adds 66 VIP tickets on top of the 700 regular tickets. Harej 14:38, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Conference fee

Have you considered a tow-tier fee system, with people who self-identify as community members or students paying less and corporate/academic attendees paying more? That way students could get in for less, whereas people coming on someone else's budget will always pay the 'standard' rate and get it reimbursed. –SJ · talk | translate 05:52, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Racepacket

Sorry to raise this sour question here. Will Racepacket's ban from the English Wikipedia affect the organisation of WM2012 in any way? Deryck C. 14:56, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

It's worth noting that Racepacket's ban has been extended to an indefinite duration: [1]. He's also been indefinitely blocked from editing on Simple Wikipedia for related matters: [2]. Nick-D 23:34, 11 February 2012 (UTC) Nick-D later removed this comment, saying that "I see that this out of date, and he's not on the list of volunteers on the main Wikimania page.
