Administrators
[edit]Hi, Johan (WMF). Does the word administratots means sysops, or really global administrators? IKhitron (talk) 09:03, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- Hi IKhitron, any admin who can assign user rights, which would exclude global sysops, since that's the main difference between what they and local admins can do. Sysops on Meta redirects to administrator, which I'd say is the more commonly used term, the one that's more likely to be understood by more readers. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 09:10, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- Interesting, Johan (WMF. Never heard somebody talked about sysops in our wiki as administrators. Maybe it's just in English. IKhitron (talk) 09:17, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- It's common in many of the European languages where I occasionally edit, at least – English, German, Swedish, French, Danish, Norwegian et cetera. So thank you for asking, I wasn't aware this could be confusing. I'll include a link for clarity. (: /Johan (WMF) (talk) 09:30, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
