Add topicLocalization requirement for Wikisource
[edit]The special thing about Wikisource is that some projects are written modern live languages, but it can also be useful to start a Wikisource in an ancient language that has a significant corpus of texts worthy of digitizing.
I suppose that for this case full translation of the interface into that ancient language is not required. This page should clearly say that Wikisource is an exception to the rule that requires full localization. --Amir E. Aharoni 11:59, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Adding to Requests for new languages
[edit]Step 5 of Making a new request is:
- On Requests for new languages, add "{{subst:ls-newrow|Project Language name}}" (for example, "{{subst:ls-newrow|Wikipedia French}}") under "Open". "Project Language name" must match the name of the page you just created; if it adds a red link, check that you spelled it correctly.
However, this page is locked. It seems you need an administrative account to do this, or something. Why is there no mention of this? How are ordinary users supposed to make new language requests? Are they not supposed to?
- Don't worry, you will soon be able to edit the page. It is semi-protected, which means your account must be autoconfirmed before you can edit it. I'm not 100% sure how long it will take for you to become autoconfirmed but I'm sure it won't be long. You can see for which reasons the page was protected in the page's protection log. Consensus
[edit]About [1], maybe a full Langcom consensus is not required, but a bit of a discussion could not harm. For example, if the change effected that users can just type "Wikisource French" instead of "Requests for new languages/Wikisource French", I don't see how it is bad. --MF-W 13:46, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
