- Personal info: (English)I am contributing to English Wikipedia, English Wiktionary, Sindhi Wikipedia, Sindhi Wiktionary, Wikimedia Commons and Meta Wikimedia since 2006. I've contributed enormously in the translation work. I am administrator at Sindhi Wikipedia and Sindhi Wiktionary. I am founder of the two projects. I am the only sysop at Sindhi Wiktionary and the first sysop of Sindhi Wikipedia. In my view, diversity within stewards is one of the most important parameters. Realizing the importance of the cultural diversity, I present myself as a candidate for stewardship.

[edit]- Languages: es-N, en-2, zh-2, jp-1
- Personal info: (English)Hello, my name is Samuel Cirilo, also known as BlackBeast. I would like to serve you as Steward. First time I dare to posit here, because I regard it as a serious liability. Here my proof of eligibility.
My career as wikipedian begins in March 2007, when I record the account but have little activity. However, shortly, whe I star to meet community and its policies, I become fond of with the project. Since 2011 I am Sysop and bureaucrat in the Spanish Wikipedia.
Although my activity in the global manteinance is not very high, I'm fast learning and strive to meet the requirements and responsibilities of this tool. I'm running because I want to involve more in the project, given my support wiht tools available to it. You can contact by IRC, e-mail, even in my talk page, since I am constantly active in projects.
In Wikipedia in Spanish, constantly attend requirements and requests as soon as possible. So participate in SRG, SRP and SRCU, would be a priority to me. I usually attend complicated cases, always looking for ways to remain calm and allowing the fellowship is maintained. I completely agree with Stewards policy. I like to find how we can improve, so I am willing to work together in several activities. Any questions you have, let me know. Thanks for the opportunity.- 我叫 BlackBeast Do you need something? 你问问什么? 04:25, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

Currently I'm a member of at least 19 local groups (sysop/rollbacker/test-admin/reviewer/patroller/rollbacker/editor/etc...) in the wiki-project. I made more than 44 000 sysop actions only on Azerbaijani Wikipedia. I participated to the translation project translatewiki.net as well. Especially if you notice, the Turkish Wikipedia Collaborations project, where I was an active participant in this project in 2011, 2012 and I became the winner of the year. In 2015, I became the completed of the 100wikidays (video-slide) and I be honored as Wikipedia Asian Ambassador.
I'm also a member of the Azerbaijani Wikimedians User Group and Small Wiki Monitoring Team. I have a great practice in global struggling against vandalism. One of my biggest contribution from the projects was the Commons project (11.000+ file); also Wikidata.
Wikiness is my lifestyle. I am busy on wiki projects from 1 to 5 hours in a day. I think wiki projects are the great common human worth. I want to be more helpful in this sphere. That is why I would like to serve as a Wikimedia steward. This is already the seventh time of my candidacy. Actually to be a candidate for the previous 6 elections was a great experience for me. Thus, further the elections has an important role in the improvement of my activity, forming as a professional wiki...
Please support with your vote all of candidates who you like! I wish only the useful result. Doubtless if wikisociety will support me, I am ready to assume the responsibility. I hope wikisociety will support and will give me this honorable responsibility. Because I’m truly a hard working user. You can trust me. Thank you for your consideration!

- Personal info: (English)Hello everyone. I started contributing on the Portuguese Wiktionary in the beginning of 2010. I currently hold adminship on ptwiktionary (since May 2010), ptwikiquote (since November 2011) and here on Meta-Wiki (since July 2013). - Personal info: (English)Hello everyone. I'm Érico from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and I would like to serve as steward.
I started contributing on Wikimedia projects in April 2010 at the Portuguese Wikipedia, where I become a sysop in January 2012, a bureaucrat in April 2012 and a CheckUser in March 2015. Although isn't a mandatory process in my home wiki, I passed in two confirmations (I & II).
In early 2012, I joined the Small Wiki Monitoring Team (SWMT) and since then I work in antivandalism-related tasks. In May 2012 I was approved as global rollbacker, and, in December of the same year, as global sysop. I'm also a sysop on Commons and a global renamer. In February 2014, I left to contribute in some projects due to student issues, but I came back to stay active in December 2014.
I'm easily contactable by my email and talk page, as well in the IRC sometimes. If elected as steward, I intend to handle with SRG, SRP and SRCU requests. Furthermore, I believe that the tools can help me more quickly and easily to deal with LTAs and cross-wiki vandalisms.
I agree to abide by the steward policy, as well its related policies (Privacy, CheckUser and Oversight). If you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to ask them. Thank you for your time and consideration. Érico (talk) 04:35, 15 January 2016 (UTC) - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2016/Questions#Érico

Hindustanilanguage (Muzammil)
[edit]- Languages: ur-N, hi-N, en-3, fr-1, te-2, eo-1, ar-1, fa-1
- Personal info: (English)Dear all,
My name is Muzammil and I come from India. I speak both Hindi and Urdu at the native level. I am comfortable with English - both written and oral. I’ve been a registered active Wikimedian for over five years now (starting 2011) . As I look back, some of my initial contributions were on Hindi Wikipedia, mainly on AIDS Control Agencies in India. I later contributed to a wide range of topics, mostly on Hindi and Urdu Wikipedias, followed by English. I did a lot of maintenance work on Commons and soon became a filemover and rollbacker there. I rose to Sysop position on Urdu Wikipedia and Reviewer position on Hindi Wikipedia.I have a total of more than 56,000 edits on all Wikimedia projects put together.
As a result of my efforts since 2012, I am glad that the first Hindi Wiki Sammelan Meet became a reality last year and I am optimistic for a large-scale Hindi Wiki Sammelan soon. I also hope to hold a similar events for Urdu Wikipedia which currently holds the top position among Indian language Wikipedias
Over the last 2-3 years, I have also transformed myself into a “Wikimedia Researcher” - in the sense that I survey, study and write blogposts on leading Wikipedians, communities and events. I have so far written blogposts on English, Sanskrit, Esperanto, Urdu, Hindi, Maithili, Doteli, Ido, Punjabi, Western Punjabi and Ido Wikipedia(s)/ Wikipedian(s). I proactively worked with Maithili Wikipedians in getting their project out of incubator and became the admin of the mailing list in the process.
My main objective in asking for steward rights is to address Steward requests, fight cross-Wiki spams and to counter vandalism. Examples of some incidents which I came across as an editor and resolved with the help of stewards are this cross-Wiki spam case and this counter-vandalism request. On a broader perspective, I would like to work in connection with SRP, SRG, SRM and SRCU and any other maintenance activity. Since I am comfortable with Latin, Perso-Arabic & Devanagri Scripts, I am ready to work with diverse communities across the world (as indicated in my research interests). I am interested in extending a helping hand to emerging as well as established communities and I feel that I will be able to justifiably discharge my duties as a Steward.
Umpteen thanks for your consideration!! - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2016/Questions#Hindustanilanguage

[edit]- Languages: bn-N, en-3, bpy-1, as-1
- Personal info: (English)Dear all,
My name is Nahid Sultan and I hail from Bangladesh. I’m a native Bengali speaker and I’m able to communicate in English as well. I’ve been an active Wikimedian for over three and half years now. I started with contributing to the English Wikipedia on 30 April 2012, then gradually became active on Bengali Wikipedia and Wikibooks, Wikimedia Commons, Meta and various small Wikimedia projects. I’m currently an administrator on Bengali Wikipedia (since December 2013), Wikimedia Commons (since May 2014), Meta (since January 2015) and a global sysop for small wikis since March, 2015. More recently, I've joined the Ombudsman commission and my terms will expire on February 2017. I’m fairly active on every projects I’m holding advance rights. I usually do clean up tasks on small wikis and am an active SWMT member since September 2014. I’m quite often present in multiple IRC channels including #cvn-sw, #wikimedia-gs, #wikimedia-admin & #wikimedia-stewards under the nick
NahidSultan
. I’m also an OTRS member since May, 2014. As of this moment I have made 56,692 edits on all Wikimedia wikis.Other than my online contributions to the movement, I am also active in doing Wikimedia works offline—working actively for Wikimedia Bangladesh chapter where I currently serve as a Board member. I’ve conducted a number of Wikipedia workshops in all of the seven divisional cities (I’m the first person to do so) and various educational institutions of Bangladesh. More recently, I have coordinated the Wikipedia 15 programs in Dhaka. That’s why my global online contributions may seem a bit low for the last couple of weeks.
As a Steward, I would like to help with the Steward requests backlog. In particular I would like to work with SRP, SRG, SRM and SRCU and various other maintenance tasks from time to time. As a SWMT member I also want to access my steward privileges to fight cross-wiki vandals and spammers. To demonstrate my ability to work in a crucial timeframe, I would like to quote one of the former stewards (my colleague from Bengali community as well) as I also fall under similar condition, “My timezone is UTC+06:00, so I’m usually awake when most of the stewards are in sleep. ;)” My stewardship would also provide an effective linkup between small wikis and the global community, also increase the diversity of the team. I would like conclude my statement with my agreeness to respect stewards policy, and other policies such as CheckUser, oversight and privacy policies. Thank you very much for your time to read this and your consideration. - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2016/Questions#NahidSultan

- Personal info: (English)I'm Richwales, and I am volunteering to serve as a steward.
I've been a Wikipedian since 2005. Most of my work has been in the English Wikipedia, where I have created two Featured Articles and nine Good Articles. On the English Wikipedia, I am currently an administrator (since 9/2011) and an oversighter (since 11/2014). Additionally, I served on the Audit Subcommittee from 5/2013 to 8/2014 — during which time I had checkuser and oversight rights on the English Wikipedia.
In addition to my native English, I can read and write French and Romanian, and I have basic proficiency in Spanish and German. I helped rewrite an article in the Romanian Wikipedia in 2007. I'm active at Japanese Wikipedia since 2008. Previously, I served as sysop and bureaucrat in that wiki, and served as sysop in meta and wikidata. In addition to this, I'm former global-sysop.
Also as CVN staff, I manage CVNBots and IRC channels. This bots is used in SWMT.
Reason for candidacy: We have many x-wiki vandals (e.g. spambot or LTA), but when I only having global-sysop rights, some x-wiki vandals cannot be stopped. Sometimes needed helping by stewards for global blocking and Locking CA account.
if I elected, I'll be help to current stewards and everyone for fighting vandalism and handling various requests.

- Languages: es-N, ca-3, en-2
- Personal info: (English)Dear fellows, after considering it for a time I've decided applying for stewardship because I'm convinced that I could be much more useful and helpful to the community having these tools.
I started contributing to the Wikimedia projects in August 2012, but I was not very active until January 2014. Since September 2014 I'm an active member of the SWMT and I contribute mainly fighting against vandalism and spam cross-wiki, and doing other maintenance tasks as cleaning test/nonsense/unuseful pages, broken redirects, etc. on wikis with no active admins. I became a global rollbacker in December 2014 and a global sysop in early June 2015 (global sysop statistics). In addition I contribute at all kind of tasks at my home wikis: Catalan Wikinews, where I have sysop rights since November 2014; Spanish Wikibooks, where I have sysop and bureaucrat rights since February 2015; Meta, where I have sysop rights since September 2015.
When I'm online I'm always avaible at several IRC channels (#cvn-swconnect, #wikimedia-gsconnect, #wikibooks-esconnect), and I'm also available at all my talk pages cross-wiki and by e-mail. I'm always available to help any user on all that I can do.
If elected as steward I would help at all steward tasks as SRG, SRM, SRCU, SRP, SRUC, SRB or VR, and fighting against vandalism and spam, off course. I cannot promise that I will always be right in my decisions, I'm human and I can do mistakes, but I can ensure that I will act always with honesty, transparency and common sense, as I've done until now.
I speak Spanish (N) as my native language, and I have an advanced level of Catalan (3) and medium of English (2). I can understand pretty well other local languages of Spain as Galician, Aragonese, Asturian or Extremadurian, and not as well other Romanic languages as Portuguese or Italian. My timezone is UTC+1.
If you want to know something more about me I will be happy answering your questions. Thank you very much for your consideration. - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2016/Questions#Syum90

My wikiname is tufor and I would like to serve global community as a steward.
I have been pl.wikipedia administrator for year and a half now. I also have sysop rights on pl.wikimedia. Once in a while I like to answer an e-mail or two in OTRS system (I have an access to info-pl and info-pl-baninfo queues). For some time I held global rollbacker rights but in June 2015 I requested to have them removed.
I might be known from my presence on IRC channels, most notably #wikimedia-stewards, where I often idle. And when something action-worthy catches my eye, I report it there to those with global mops.
As a steward I would like to continue doing what I've been doing for about a year – but by myself :-) That means dealing with LTAs, spambots and handling IRC requests. Moreover, I might come in handy with handling requests on meta and renaming user accounts.
Even though I surely won't be the most active steward (I'd describe my planned activity level as 'moderate' ;) I think I still might be useful.
Well, it's up to you, dear community, if you would like me to have these rights ;) May the Force be with you,
tufor (talk) 20:56, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- Withdraw: I withdraw my candidature from the elections as it has no chance of succeeding and there is no point in further continuing.
