In copying the bibliography I think I made plenty of mistakes. sorry. --iopensa (talk) 16:00, 6 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Starting date

[edit]

In accordance with the partners, we decided to postpone the project starting date to 1 February 2014. This allows us to have a little more time to properly plan the project and to cross more efficiently with our current commitments. --iopensa (talk) 09:19, 25 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Could I get a confirmation of when this project started or will start? Blue Rasberry (talk) 12:16, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
1 February 2014. Confirmed and the project is in progress. --iopensa (talk) 12:18, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Who is managing this?

[edit]

Could I have a list of all the sponsors of this program? Please list organizations and unaffiliated individuals. If an organization is listed, please provide the name of a lead contact at that organization. Blue Rasberry (talk) 12:16, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

The financial support is from SNF Swiss National Science Foundation and the South African National Research Foundation (NRF) within the SSAJRP - Swiss South Africa Joint Research Programme. The project is managed by the two principal investigators (in Switzerland Iolanda Pensa and in South Africa Tobias Schönwetter). --iopensa (talk) 12:22, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks - that satisfies me. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

WMF resources in this

[edit]

Could I see an account of WMF resources which are granted for this project? Please also include the commitment of WMF staff time. Blue Rasberry (talk) 12:16, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

There are no WMF resources granted for this project (and no request has been made). We have invited some staff member of WMF to join the Scientific Committee. The aim of this invitation is to have their feedback and review on the project, to make sure we link our work to current initiatives (certainly WMF staff members can be well updated on what the movement is doing within the WMF but also on Wikimedia projects and in different countries) and to make sure people in the WMF team know what we are doing to eventually take advantage of it or making sure a broader group of people-institutions can take advantage of it if - of course - the results are relevant. here more details on the project scientific committee and the staff time can be reasonably defined in 20 hours over 3 years (in the scientific committee page you can see the frequency of contacts and exchanges). --iopensa (talk) 12:28, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Okay, it seems that one WMF contact that you have is Elitre (WPS) / Elitre (WMF) / Elitre. I will trust that user to declare any non-trivial amount of WMF time and resources which are invested in this project. If Wikimedia community resources channeled through the WMF come to this project then I would like for that to be clearly disclosed. Right now everything seems right. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Actually Elitre is working both for WMF and for us. She is not a full-time collaborator of WMF. With SUPSI she has a 20% contract as scientific collaborator; her working hours in the project are separate from those at WMF, she uses a different account - Elitre (WPS) - and she has informed WMF about the collaboration before joining our team to check if it was ok and it was ok. --iopensa (talk) 17:21, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Right now I am a contractor for WMF, not an employee. My work in this project has nothing to do with my tasks at the WMF; before accepting this job I formally asked an evaluation of the situation anyway and WMF confirmed there is no COI - and wish us good luck, BTW :) I believe the line in my userpage is enough, but can add more if needed, of course. Thanks for your feedback! --Elitre (WPS) (talk) 17:37, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedia community stakeholders

[edit]

Which Wikimedia community stakeholders have participated in developing this project? Please list chapters, WikiProjects, or particularly dedicated volunteers. Blue Rasberry (talk) 12:16, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedia CH is partner of the project. Erica Litrenta and Iolanda Pensa are Wikimedia contributors and they work on this project. --iopensa (talk) 15:18, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I see. And Erica Litrenta shares that name on one of her Wikipedia accounts, and is also user:Elitre. Thank you. It seems also that I am a stakeholder in this as in 2012 I commented on a proposal by Elitre at Wikimedia_Fellowships/Project_Ideas/Local_Community_Fellow. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ahh, I was also with Elitre at en:Wikipedia:School_of_Open_course/Round_3/Week_5. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:16, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Feedback

[edit]

My initial impression is that this seems like a great project and I wish that many more people could propose and manage such projects, and that backers of these kinds of projects would seek funding wherever it is right to do so in order that these kinds of projects find success. Please keep me posted with updates about this as I would like to follow the progress of this. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

It will be done! --Elitre (WPS) (talk) 17:38, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Update on personnel

[edit]

From October 2015, I join the programme to replace Erica Litrenta as scientific collaborator for the Laboratory of Visual Culture, Department for Environment Constructions and Design at SUPSI. Anthere (talk)

Open dataset

[edit]

The following is the link to the open dataset of the project that I collected: https://giovannipro.github.io/wikipedia-primary-school/datasets.html

I add some problems to put the link in the template at the top of the main page. Please Anthere, can you put the link in the page? Thanks. --G.prof (talk) 00:23, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Done G.prof. Apparently there are two different templates...{{Research_project}} and {{Research_Project}}. We had the second tag. I switched to the first one. It seems that none of the projects with the second tag display any code or source, whilst many of the projects with the first tag do. I suspect there is a bug in the second template because I cant succeed to get it working. But all good with the first... Anthere (talk)
Perfect Anthere! Thanks a lot. --G.prof (talk) 13:08, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
