Issues to discuss
[edit]- Who should manage/review such requests?
- Is the creation of a single researcher group combining all these privileges a good solution?
- Should a process be implemented by which researchers can apply on a temporary basis to a subset of special privileges?
Is the creation of a single researcher group combining all these privileges a good solution?
[edit]I think it would be better to have a bit more fine-grained users groups than just a generic one for all researchers. Don't think project-specific would be good either, though that would have the advantage of being more transparent. But there would be other ways to achieve transparency, e.g. by dedicated project-specific user names (if that does not disturb the research). So I would expect some rough categorization of research projects based on the essential needs, and thus a small number of dedicated user groups. -- Daniel Mietchen 03:37, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
