- The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics, recent changes). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
- The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).

Proposal
[edit]Tunica is a Native American language that has received much revitalization effort in the past 60 years, beginning with linguist Mary Haas after the death of the last native speaker. The target of these ongoing revitalization efforts have largely been descendant communities that still claim Tunica as a heritage language. In the past few months, Tunica has moved from "Dormant" to "Awakening" on the Ethnologue language vitality scale. As this language is actively being revitalized in the community, efforts are also being made to find Tunica a spot in modernity . One of the ways of doing that is creating a web presence so that people can communicate and interact with the internet in their heritage language. One of first steps in this process has been to create Tunica youtube videos (including the song "Monster Mash" with Tunica lyrics). However, it is our hope to expand Tunica's presence on the web through both written and oral language. As part of this initiative, we will be writing and submitting articles (in Tunica) regarding aspects of the Tunica language and people. Topics will include the history of the language, the history of the people, the revitalization program and associated summer language camps, as well as well known historical figures in the Tunica community. By having this information available in Tunica, Tunica speakers (and members of the heritage language community) will be able to learn about their history directly in their own language without having to relay and understand it all through an English language lens.

Discussion
[edit]Per Ethnologue: 32, all users. L1 users: No known L1 speakers, but emerging L2 speakers. The last known native speaker, Sesostrie Youchigant (aka Sam Young), died in 1948 (1964 M. Haas). L2 users: 32 (2017 J. Maxwell). Seems like somewhat premature for having a wiki. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 15:01, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
