This proposal has been approved. The Board of Trustees and language committee have deemed that there is sufficient grounds and community to create the new language project. A committee member provided the following comment: This project is approved. See phabricator:T184374. Please continue to contribute to the test project on Incubator until the wiki is created. For LangCom: StevenJ81 (talk) 16:49, 7 January 2018 (UTC)

- The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics, recent changes). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
- The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
- The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:
What | Value | Example / Explanation |
---|
Proposal | ||
---|---|---|
Language code | inh (SIL, Glottolog) | A valid ISO 639-1 or 639-3 language code, like "fr", "de", "nso", ... |
Language name | Ingush | Language name in English |
Language name | ГӀалгӀай | Language name in your language. This will appear in the language list on Special:Preferences, in the interwiki sidebar on other wikis, ... |
Language Wikidata item | Q33509 - item has currently the following values:
|
Item about the language at Wikidata. It would normally include the Wikimedia language code, name of the language, etc. Please complete at Wikidata if needed. |
Directionality | no indication | Is the language written from left to right (LTR) or from right to left (RTL)? |
Site URL | inh.wikipedia.org | langcode.wikiproject.org |
Settings | ||
---|---|---|
Project name | Википеди | "Wikipedia" in your language |
Project namespace | Википеди | usually the same as the project name |
Project talk namespace | Википеди ювцар | "Wikipedia talk" (the discussion namespace of the project namespace) |
Enable uploads | no | Default is "no". Preferably, files should be uploaded to Commons. If you want, you can enable local file uploading, either by any user ("yes") or by administrators only ("admin").
Notes: (1) This setting can be changed afterwards. The setting can only be "yes" or "admin" at approval if the test creates an Exemption Doctrine Policy (EDP) first. (2) Files on Commons can be used on all Wikis. (3) Uploading fair-use images is not allowed on Commons (more info). (4) Localisation to your language may be insufficient on Commons. |
Optional settings | ||
Project logo | File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-inh.png | This needs to be an SVG image (instructions for logo creation). |
Default project timezone | Europe/Moscow | "Continent/City", e.g. "Europe/Brussels" or "America/Mexico City" (see list of valid timezones) |
Additional namespaces | For example, a Wikisource would need "Page", "Page talk", "Index", "Index talk", "Author", "Author talk". | |
Additional settings | Anything else that should be set | |
Once settings are finalized, a committee member will submit a Phabricator task requesting creation of the wiki. (This will include everything automatically, except the additional namespaces/settings.) After the task is created, it should be linked to in a comment under "final decision" above. |

- Support Please approve the establishment of the Ingush section of Wikipedia. This project has been inactive for a long time, have not been translated the main system messages, as well as numerous mistakes in the names and content of the articles inhibited the project. However, a great deal is corrected now, all main system messages are now translated. Added new articles and pages, including special pages. Categories for all the pages have been created and normalized. Some necessary templates and modules are also created and translated for normal work of Ingwiki. I am ready to continue to work to improve the wiki and make every effort for its development.

Arguments against
[edit]General discussion
[edit]- Note that arguments must be presented supporting the creation of this project per the Language proposal policy. —{admin} Pathoschild 08:04:40, 01 April 2007 (UTC)
- Certainly a legitimate proposal, however, after three weeks, there is still no content in the test project. Looks like the proponents have lost interest. --Johannes Rohr 13:36, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- The interest of cause is not lost and hardly will be. Certainly the significant progress will be in the middle of July (my vacation time, maybe not too fast but I do not consider this as a one day project). In the time before this the page will be build step-by-step. --Tagir Aushev 00:23, 4 May 2007 (CEST)
- I would support this idea if there were at least 20 articles in the test project. Now I am not sure whether there are people who would contribute. --Wisconsus 15:19, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- Over the past few months I am actively working in this test wiki. I will be glad of help from the active participants. – Adam-Yourist (talk)
