Contribute your expertise!

We invite specialists and enthusiasts to contribute to the data collected by the Network Archives Design and Digital Culture (NADD). There are many ways to contribute – all are very welcome and very useful!

If you are interested in contributing, get in touch with Wikidatan in Residence Sandra Fauconnier.

How can you contribute? A non-exhaustive list:

  • As a specialist or enthusiast in the discipline (art historian, researcher, fan, supporter, collector, maker, cultural worker, student...) you can:
    • Identify gaps in the data
    • Recommend and provide additional information, sources and datasets
    • Help prioritize what NADD and Wikimedians can work on most effectively: which topics need which work? Which subjects should get Wikipedia articles?
    • Contribute good-quality scans and photographs of designers, designed products, artworks...
    • Edit Wikidata and improve the data yourself
    • Write Wikipedia articles and make Dutch design and digital culture - and the museums and archives that safeguard and present them - more visible to the world
    • Do the above together with others: create or join a working group around a design or digital culture topic of your choice
  • As a Wikimedian you can:
    • Help improve the data on Wikidata based on reliable sources
    • Write Wikipedia articles
    • Take photographs of objects designed or created by the people, organizations and companies covered in this project, and upload them to Wikimedia Commons
    • Add structured data to existing files on Wikimedia Commons
    • Help us create more interesting lists and data visualizations
