Feedback
[edit]- The preamble gives a perfect definition of what the movement Charter is,the content actually explains what the movement should be.
- The content in the preamble tells us how the movement will be supported especially in the technical aspects and it's very clear for me.
- The intentions of the Movement Charter are simple and clear.. It is so transparent
- It is very apt, straight to the point and meets the needs of the 21st century.
- The stated Values don't seem so bad but something should be added (Empowerment). When you talk about equity there should be empowerment.
- Transparency should go with accountability.
- Inclusivity should not be only a paper action but it should be made real,we should include ‘participation’ in decision making i.e participatory decision making not just talk about inclusion only on the paper.
- Safety and Security should be included in the Core Values.
- Also Free knowledge and open source comes with problem which needs safety and security assurance
- There is a need for collaboration and cooperation to be included as one of the values and principles.
- Flexibility is one of the values missing, There should be flexibility in assigning roles.
- In ensuring subsidiarity, information dissemination should be done and everyone should have equal right.
- Accountability has actually explained transparency there is no need of including transparency as missing value or if we should mention vocabulary then we will have the PhD thesis as the Charter's Chapter.
- I feel the Values and principles stated in the Movement Charter are okay. The area of collaboration should be emphasized.
- I think asking for equality in a system will bring anarchy, rather we should emphasize on Equity.
- I believe some of the ones asking for are merged already in the description of the existing ones.
- There is a need to also involve equity in governance.
- Talking about Inclusivity as a value. This is one of the values that allows all voices to be heard not minding your race. If this point would be real then the Charter is okay.
- My view is simple and clear that information should be decentralized, open and without cost to meet up with the set goals and objectives (team work).
- Proposing to fill the gap, I suggest the movement dedicates some percent to the Africans because there are lots of gaps to fill in Africa.
- They should also take responsibility for providing information we can actually work on, especially the technical aspects of wikidata to make it readily available for new users.
- The roles are okay but they should also include the roles of the board, that people should know more about the board. Though it covers all that has to do with roles and responsibilities.
- Talking about The roles and responsibilities and modifying it is okay for me
- The roles and responsibilities intentions show an overview of the various roles and Responsibilities within the movement and they are good to work with.
- The roles and responsibilities are good, yes because it covers a whole lot, especially as adjustment will be made as years goes by.
- I very much agree with the roles and responsibilities. I mostly agree with the transparency of providing adjustment and innovation as it grows further.
Miscellaneous feedback
[edit]- The concept of the Wikimedia Movement Charter is a great one and will be okay if everyone or groups or chapters works in-line with this.
- What will be done to users or groups who don’t follow the guidelines of Movement Charter?
- Have a round of management where at least 20% of Leadership roles are from African Communities.
- Network issues was a hinderance
- I recommend that efforts be made to bring people back to the fold through active encouragements in form of reimbursements and make sure they're participating in the program
- I need more clarification
- You are all doing great
- Our representatives did justice to the topic and they ensured that everyone was carried along.
- Just want to appreciate the effort to increase awareness of the wiki movement
- Did not really understand what they mean by organized and informal groups in the values and principles.
- Translation into Igbo is best translated by meaning of the context not word to word.
- Keep on the good work
- Due to network issues, I didn't follow the online translation training. So I strongly agree with the in-person translation training and follow-up and hope to be a part of it.
- It was a wonderful experience. The Movement Charter is a great initiative.
- A physical seminar is going to help a lot to better understand the processes.
- I recommend that some tools should be made more simple for the newcomers
- On the Movement Charter Content page, the chapters of MC should be linked
There was a pre and post conversation survey for evaluation. See summary of findings shown on charts.
