Q[edit]

@MarcoAurelio: Just a question, when should CN admin be removed? Shanmugamp7's last CNBanner edit was 5 years ago. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 12:21, 9 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

My question too, but a reading of CN admin there isn't activity requirements, this perhaps is worth fixing in the activity section like IA, since both needs 2FA. But for Shanmugamp7 it's quite meh as they are a steward and steward can so called access the CN system with or without the access through steward privs. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:26, 9 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Minorax: It was an oversight on my part. Historically removals here meant sysop and everything else ('crat, CU, OS). CNA is a sensitive access and since Shanmugamp7 has lost his adminship, I think it makes sense to remove CNA as well. However non-sysops CNAs are not being actively checked for activity as there are no requirements in the page (it's not even a policy). I think it should be fixed somewhat. I'd even welcome a consolidation of our current inactivity review processes given the fragmentary nature of our policies. We currently have Meta:Bot inactivity policy for bots, Meta:Administrators/Removal for admins, Meta:Interface administrators, etc. It's becoming hard to follow. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 16:42, 9 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@MarcoAurelio: Digging deeper, CN admin was split out from the sysop toolkit in 2018 (Special:Diff/18610424) and seems that the inactivity policy as stipulated by WMF is 12 months. Vogone, Jeremyb & Brochon99 last used the toolkit in 2019. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 03:29, 10 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Started a discussion on Babel on this, I agree we need to codify it. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:08, 10 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Jeremyb used CN tools in March of 2020. — xaosflux Talk 15:09, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
And Brochon99 used them this year. — xaosflux Talk 15:10, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Minorax: while still over 1 year, Shanmugamp7 does appear to have used CN tools as recently as 2019, see (the CN log). The CN logs are not part of the normal logs - so if this is going to be enforced we should take care to evaluate the activity using both "edits", standard logs, and the CN logs. — xaosflux Talk 14:54, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
